Ive, always wondered this, Their are very little celebrities that attend smaller churches that aren't famous (Ex. George Foreman). Im just curious, im not trying to bash anyone.

i think for 2 reasons. one, i think that the anonomity is a big draw, the paprazzi are much less likely to hang about in the parking lot if they have to wait for all the parishoners to come out just so they can get the one or two photos they want. two,i hate to say it, i think it also has to do w/the preacher's celeb status. ever hear the saying 'money marries money'? well, it's the same w/celebs and mega churches . they feel more in tune w/ the ppl there bc alot of the churches they choose are likely to have parishoners and pastors that are just as well off as they are.

It's possible that celebrities view attending church as a publicity campaign. If they can't be seen then there is no point in attending church, so they go to big churches with big names. Smile for the camera.

The same reason Britney Spears has breakdowns. Any publicity is good publicity. Doesn't matter whether they are in the news for possession of cocaine, shaving their head, or going to church. Celebs want to be seen. Period. It's harder to be seen (and adored by "fans") when you are in a small, quiet church. Many of these mega churches have cameras and television ad time that the celeb may be seen on.

Pretty simple, really. They go where the cameras are. Without publicity, a celebrity is nothing but a has-been.

Not all celebrities, just the ones that want to spend the thousands of dollars that they have and be seen doing it.

because celebrities do everything with flare. they have to flaunt what theyve got. they dont wanna do n e thing that is less than amazing. and if they are goin to go to church they mise well go to the huge flashy ones

because anyone not famous is taboo and they dont want to touch them....actually they are just obsessed with their "image" and dont want to be seen in a shitty crappy church with a random pastor

It's pride. The "look at me" syndrome. They go where the spotlight is on themselves, and not on God. It's sad.
