The word Allah is Arabic, while Jehovah is Hebrow , and both mean God.Allah is probabely one of the deities that Arabs used to worship before Islam. The name and its position developed through out time and Allah has become the one and only god for Muslims.Jehovah was the god of battle that the family of Abraham used to worship, and he also developed to become the god of Hebrows. If you read the Torah and the Quran ,you will discover that there is no difference between the two.Ofcourse that does not apply on christianity. It goes to another direction by saying that Jesus(piece be upon him) is the son of God.So we can say that Muslims and Jews worship the same God.

Hello,

None.

Heard all that moon god nonsense before. Arabia was pagan before Mohammed and it is true there were gods as such. However the Koran makes it clear as does the Muslim religion that Allah is the one God and the God of Abraham.
Christians and Jews are called children of the book meaning the old testament bible.

I think people play semantics on this issue. God is God. sometimes he is Yaweh; some sects call him Jehova, the Romans (Christianized ) said Deus, the Spanish call him Dios, El Senor etc.

The Christians believe in the God of Abraham as Jews and Muslims but also believe in three entities in one God (Trinity) and chalk it up to a supernatural mystery not understandable in our finite minds.
St. Patrick came close to an explanation when he gave a barbarian king in Hibernia (Ireland) a three leafed shamrock to illustrate the Trinity - father, son (Jesus) and holy spirit.

God has many names. Theos- Greek word meaning God. Before anything came into being, He was, and is, and shall always be. He is the existing, Abiding, and Eternal one. The Divine Names of God: Elohim- God's official title. El- suggests power and authority. El Shaddai- the Almighty God. Yahweh or Jehovah- the personal and redemptive name of God. Jehovah means redeemer and is always used in connection with redemption and/ or deliverance by God. Adonai- Master or Lord. Jehovah-Jirah: provider. Jehovah-Rapha: Healer.Jehovah- Nissi: Banner. Jehovah- Shalom: Peace. Jehovah- Ra-AH: Shepherd. Jehovah- Tsid-Kenu: My Righteous Lord. Jehovah- Shammah: God's Always There. El Olam: Everlasting God. Jehovah Elohim: Lord God. I Am That I Am: Self - existent and self- sufficient. Tsui-Rock. Elohim Tsbhaoth: God of Sabaoth, or Lord of Hosts. ( We all worship God, just different). Atheists, Theist, Scientologist and other non-Believers worship different gods. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.

Your personificating the concept of God firstly, and seperating the Christians because they have a variation. An individuals actions define the God they believe in and religions act to guide individuals and communities towards their particular God. Though because all humans irregardless of religious practise are from the same source, it is surely obvious that they are the same God, and that only the spiritual practices differ.

The word Jehovah is not Hebrew and does not appear in any Hebrew or Greek writing in the Bible. It is not an original word for God. It was fabricated in the 1500's. As such it does not necessarily refer to the one and only true God. It is certainly not the word Christians use for God - that is Jesus or Christ -completely unacceptable to Muslims..

The term "Allah" simply means "the [one] god", implying a single Almighty deity reminiscent of the Judeo-Christian "Yahweh" / "Jehovah". However, it is significant that "Allah" is clearly NOT a personal name, while the Hebrew Tetragrammaton clearly *IS* a personal name for Almighty God.

It's not exactly wrong to call the Almighty by the impersonal "God", just as it's not wrong to call one's offspring "Child". Faithful men of the Holy Scriptures used both "God" and a form of "Jehovah" when they referred to and addressed the Almighty. However, the term "Allah" seems intended specifically to reject Judeo-Christian spiritual heritage.

If we want a familiar and close relationship, it makes sense to use the personal name of someone we love. The Scriptures encourage us to use God's personal name.

The Hebrew name “Yahweh” (or “Yehowah”) does seem to accurately pronounce the divine name. Just as the Hebrew name “Yeshua” (or “Yehoshua”) is translated into “Jesus” in English, the Hebrew name “Yahweh” is translated into “Jehovah” in English.

The important thing is to use God’s personal name in whatever language you speak, rather than insisting upon the impersonal! The name “Yahweh” is certainly preferable to the non-name “God” or “Lord”, especially if you speak Hebrew. If you speak English, feel free to use the name "Jehovah".

(Psalms 83:18) That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth

(John 17:26) [Jesus said] I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them

Allah is a false god.

Yahweh, or Jehovah, ( the same God) pact was with Isaac, not Ishmael. And the bible states clearly that the descendants of Ishmael will be a thorn in the side of the descendants of Isaac.

Jesus or Yeshua taught us the Almighty Father's name is Abba.

There is only one God and there is no other God except God. So, by whatever name you call him, Allah or Jehovah or God or Almighty or Creator or Lord or any other name all goes to him.

Allah is a false god while Jehovah is the only true God, the Creator. Jehovah does not mean God, but rather is his name which means, He causes to become.

Considering Jesus claimed to be the very God that Abraham worshiped, & Islam denies this assertion, I'd say that the two are mutually exclusive.
