Maybe they want to believe in these fantasy places so badly that the only way to affirm that belief is to repeat it ad nauseum? Some Christians even claim to be ex-atheists in loosely disguised attempts to add weight to their flimsy case, so they must be genuinely desperate people no?

Yes Kenny P obviously has not read the question. What's that they say about Christians wearing blinkers? LOL

Some for the reason you stated, others to gloat because they've defined themselves as better. A few for other petty reasons. I've never seen a sincere one on Y!A.

I think christians feel a duty to convert non-christians for their own benefit and for the non-christians' benefit as well. Christians, in my experience, seem to judge others who are not christian and assume because they are not christian, they are not a good person and need help - need to be 'saved' and as part their doctrine are supposed to spread the word of the bible.

My father-in-law is an atheist and one of best humans I have ever met in my life.

The Christians who believe in hell- and talk about it to others, do so because they honestly believe in it. They dont do it to annoy you, which you seem annoyed. Truth is, no one really knows if heaven OR hell exist- so i dont think it hurts to try to live a good life just to be on the safe side. ha ha. Lighten up.

Sadly, that is what they were taught. If they'd actually study the bible, they'd see that hell isn't what everyone cracks it up to be. Hell is simply, by the bible's definition, the grave. Nonexistence. Separation from God. So relax, give the bible another chance, and this time study carefully to discern what it REALLY teaches!

Christians don't say "your going to hell" just to hear ourselves talk, and it's not for our benefit, we have been saved. Whether or not you accept accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior is entirely up to you. However, the reason Christians tell you about hell is simply because they want you to be saved.

Ex: If you saw someone walking towards danger, would you do try to warn them of it or just let them keep walking? Same thing with Christians, they see people walking towards hell and they try to prevent that from happening by talking to you about it.

Frankly after seeing most of your questions, I think you are desperate for attention and obviously delight in starting arguements and I can detect in high amounts, traces of pride dripping from your words.
wow!
You really don't want answers (atleast not anything that contradicts you), you somehow imagine that you are proving a point but you pose them as questions and simply snare at what you don't want to see or what you expect Christians to say.
That is a whole new level of conceit.

Hell is the common grave of mankind and nothing more, they were sold on the lie of a fiery, tormenting hell by Satan and can't let it go.

We tell you for your benefit and God's benefit. We do not want to see you in hell and neither does God. ANd I have known people who were honestly athiests and became Christians. I knew pagans who turned their lives around to become Christian. I myself was born and raised Jewish but now I follow Jesus (Yeshua).

It depends on the person, of course. There could be many different motivations.
