Whether your addictions be always finding partner after partner to fill your pain, sex addictions, workaholism, gambling, food, shopping, alcoholism, narcotics, etc.?

By addiction I mean something you're unhealthily obsessed with or need too much/too dependent upon, that is very painful to withdraw from. I'm not referring to a child who puts ketchup on all his meals because he likes it, as having an addiction.

Addictions - I meant something a pyschiatrist, a medical practitioneer or social worker would call an unhealthy, dependent addiction. Not just what you really like alot.

A addiction is very serious issue it's not a joke! It is labeled as a disease and insurance will pay for treatment.

I was seriously addicted to synthetic heroin (vicodin) for 3 yrs in a row. It almost took my life, but not my spirit. I went into rehab for 2wks. The hardest part were my babies (3) and the horrifying painfull withdrawls (I thought I would die) but if I did get better neither would they. I did it for myself. I hit rock bottom really embarrassing bad.

I lost my marriage, but walk with my head up high towards the future and 5 yrs of sobriety. I attend NA meeting and follow 12 steps. All of the above can be treated there is help and you are not alone.........bella_reynoso

I am addicted to knitting.

It used to be soothing and something to occupy my hands. Now, I am unhappy if I am not stitching something. I get irritable if I have to go more than 2 or 3 hours without working on one of my many knit or crochet projects. If I'm not throwing the yarn over some kind of hook or needle, I'm picking at my fingernails or eating my cuticles.

It's gotten to the point where my entire house is engulfed with yarn and stitching supplies, knitting machines, books, dyes and containers for knitting. I think I've knitted all my friends at least a dishcloth, and people have begun ordering their favorite colors and offering to pay to get custom work.

This sounds like a minor issue, but there are people at work who think I'm strange because I knit on my breaks and look up knitting patterns on the computer.

Since knitting gives me inner peace, and I'm getting really good at it, I'm not having any hope that I'll find a way out of this.I think it is truly an obsessive addiction, because I can't think of a day I haven't knitted since I started a year and a half ago.

My addiction is remembering all the sweet and real moments this guy gave to me and proves that he really loved me. Its horrible i have constant flashbacks, and while i want to stop the pain, i cant get enough of it, it makes me too happy, but happy for the worst cuz it basically may be irrelevant now.
