There are different beliefs, prayers, denominations, churches and yet...if God is omnipotent, as all religions say , why can't we agree that we all are talking about the same God? (Please try to see the big picture here) There can be only one God, if we all believe what we say we do....right?

Nicole B.---you're right and you make my point exactly--"three religions with three different takes on God" is what I was trying to say---one God but three different religions--thanks for your answer.

Run James Run----sure, no problem. If all Gods and Goddesses originally stem from the same Source, then why not!

Lady Morgana---perhaps I should have said the Source instead of God-- and the Goddess is always included when I speak about God. Sometimes I say God and sometimes I say Goddess--thank you for your answer---Blessings!

Terry---good point. But didn't all these spring from One Source? If not, then what's the point of believing in God/Goddess at all?

umm yeah, I see where you are coming from... but it is a little different...If you are talking about Christianity I agree we need to get along, but if you are talking about Christianity, Judaism, Muslims... then its not going to happen...we do not serve the same God.. it is three different religions and three different takes on God...Christianity and Judaism.. is the same God.. sorry my fingers moved faster than my brain on that one..

Most monotheistic religions throughout the historical documentation of mankind have "served" the same god. It's called the Sun.
http://zeitgeistmovie.com/
RBC, they are only different because of mans view on gods throughout the different ages during the precession of the equinoxes.
Take for example the fish symbol that many Christians use today, OR the rams horn that those who follow Judaism still use to this day, OR the imagery of a god conquering a bull at certain points in history. These are all astrological in nature. We are currently in the age of Pisces the fish. We came out of Aries the ram, which came from Taurus the bull. If you watch the above link that I have provided it will go into much much more detail then I can on here.
The point is every single "saviour" that shares the story of Jesus, is purely astrological in nature. You can debate about the existence of "god" all day long. But the fact is, Jesus more then likely didn't even exist. He shares to many of the same traits as dozens of other "Sun" gods.

Even in the case of monotheistic religions, the ideas about who or what god is are different, and it is not the same god. To paraphrase Joseph Cambell, when Mrs. McCarthy thinks of God, it is not the same God that the Pope is thinking of. In short, even within a religious sect, the experience of the individual believers will not be of the same god- the god they are all experiencing is in each of their individual minds- there is no physical god in the world that will stand comparison to anyone's idea of god. God exists in the minds of the believers.
No matter who agrees with you, the world is going to prove that what you wish for is impossible. That's just a fact. If you want to prove it to yourself, read a book written by any theologian, then compare their god to the average person's god. The difference is astounding, to say the least.

In the infinite universe there can be an infinite amount of Gods and Goddesses and an infinite amount of Worshipers. If you use this earth as a statistical base, over 90% of Gods and Goddesses that humankind has worshipped have true names, not just the title God.

Sorry, but what about the Goddess? What about belief in more than one deity? What about belief that there is NO deity?
The differences that exist are enormous even between people who DO only believe in one god, aren't they?
You say there can be only one God. I disagree.

No, that's a lie. We aren't all actually worshipping your God, but didn't know. My gods are not your God. There are many, many gods and goddesses. The Divine essence of the universe may conform to our expectations and wear many masks in order to interact with us and influence our lives, but that only means It's not your God either and your ideas about God are just as faulty as everyone elses. If we all worship the same God, your faith can't be the Absolute Truth.

Because Judaism, Islam, and Xianity do not encompass "all religions." There are other gods and goddesses people follow as well.

I believe in the one and only true GOD.
There are ALOT of different religions and they all do not believe in the same GOD or that there is one for that matter.
It will never happen.

The correct answer to that is, it is impossible simply because of our different gods and doctrines.
