I would never accuse Charles Darwin of those things. But if I were to bring up a Creationist with no formal education, what would the Atheists here say?

You Atheists just don't get it. What I'm asking about is the denegrating of people making scientific claims. Charles Darwin is not held to the same degree as anyone else is. Atheist say that anyone questioning Darwin is uneducated and doesn't know what they're talking about. Why?

Yousedummy...............The word "dinosaur" wasn't coined until the mid 1800's. Before that they were called dragons. Dragons are mentioned in the Bible. The Book of Job, chapters 41 & 42 describes two dinosaurs in detail.
How's that for tap dancing?

How many times do you plan on asking variations on this exhausted theme?
ADDENDA
"perhaps you would like to devote some synapses as to why dinosaurs are not mentioned in the Old or New Testament. "
Uh, oh. Stay tuned for tap dancing Xtians...
Reply: Not very good footwork. Expected. Tired steps. Not to mention wrong dance. "Dragons" had been portrayed long before the citations you claim as dinosaurs, and, guess what? They all looked like the ones in Chinese or other mythologies. Find another straw at which to grasp. One that hasn't been discredited for decades.
"You Atheists just don't get it."
Oh, we get it. You are attempting to construct a straw man argument to discredit Darwin for lack of education. Formal education is irrelevant if the work holds up. Did you know that Einstein published his Special Theory with a mere master's degree? That Newton never advanced beyond a master's? That Leibniz was not a trained scientist? (Philosophy and law.) That Galileo never had ANY degree? Once again, find another straw man. This one has been incinerated.

Theo, there is no one blinder than he who will not see.
By YOUR own admittance, Darwin was a trained theologian in an era that at best was the beginning of the scientific age.
I sense dishonesty in your statement that you would never accuse Darwin of being a "fraud and fake," as you clearly are locked on this perception.
Since you have a mind that wants to ponder things, which I applaud, perhaps you would like to devote some synapses as to why dinosaurs are not mentioned in the Old or New Testament.

Darwin really doesn't have the much to do with today's evolutionary thought. He had a good idea. Some was right, some was wrong. None of that matters. Other scientist have done 130 years worth of research and have further built on the ideas of Darwin.
There are literally thousands of men whose research adds to the theory. Darwin does not stand alone in evolution.

You really don't get it do you?
Darwin could have been wrong about every single detail of evolution, it does not matter.
A theory, a proper scientific theory, rests on evidence not on the person who discovers it. It turns out Darwin was actually quite a nice man, but if he was the greatest bastard who ever lived it would make no difference as to the truth or otherwise concerning evolution. We do not do evidence based on authority.
Edit:
You can question Darwin all you like, hold him to the same standard as anyone else, it does not matter, what matters is whether you know what you are talking about. We have moved on somewhat in the past two hundred years, Darwin was (shock horror) wrong about many things, he knew nothing about genes and could not explain many features of evolution we can now.
Newton was also wrong, but he is still the greatest scientist who ever lived, so what?

I wouldn't care if Darwin turned out to be a hardcore evangelical, who talked about evolution as a prank, and formally denounced his belief in all things non-creationist before a crowd of a million witnesses... What matters is that evolution makes sense, it is supported by a rediculous amount of evidence, and intelligent design is horse s***.
What matters are the facts, not the people who endorse them.
(don't get me wrong, Charles Darwin was the greatest scientist of all time, IMO)

People will believe what they want to believe. The world hates truth and will take hold of any foolish nonsense that is against truth. There is not one factual piece of evidence to support Darwinian evolution. Never has been. If man descended from apes why are there still apes? Where is the evidence? Missing link that science is so desperate for ?

A truth, supported by EVIDENCE, stands on its own no matter who was the first to utter it aloud.
EDIT: NO, it seems that it's YOU that is not getting it. If something is true AND can be supported with facts then it doesn't matter if a parrot said it first, it would still be TRUE. The same can be said for something that is untrue; It wouldn't matter how many degrees the person who said it has, it would still be UNTRUE.

there are several shortcuts to work out whether or not someone is simply talking out of their other orifice: whether or not they have a formal scientific education is one of them. nothing beats reading their work firsthand of course, but there are only so many hours in the day for that. if someone believes that the earth is 6000 years old (for example) sorry but that's going to set off alarm bells no matter how many degrees they have, it is just not a credible position, hasn't been for about 200 years.

I wouldn't really care....because there are thousands of maniac religious folks running around spouting about their god, and they don't have any formal training, and are not theologians. Not only are they not theologians, but they are so far off from being historians that it's honestly laughable.
If you believe your made of dirt and not carbon that's for you to decide....but I think science might have to disagree with you.

Darwin was a creationist too. He believed that the first living thing, which all species evolved from, was created.
