No. You overindulge, maybe because of stress, exhaustion and an unpleasant job. A lot of people do this. I suggest going to church or seeing a counsellor and taking a meditation class. Learn to unwind and cut down to one or two and not every day. It isn't necessary. You will lose weight and feel better. Why not go for a walk, swim or bike ride after work and follow it up with some t.v., a cup of tea and a shower? A good book or some meditation and yoga may help you relax.

Well, it does make you an alcoholic if you can't stop. If you're doing it on your own free will, then I it's fine. But if you start finding out you can't stop and have to drink every night and you start having to drink more, then I am sorry, but you are becoming and alcoholic and I suggest you try driking much less frequently.

Can you not do it? If your drink is not available, would you go out in a rainstorm to get it? How quickly did it progress from one beer or glass of wine to where you are now?
And if you are asking if it is a problem, then it probably is.

Everyone has different tolerances for alcohol. Quantities are irrelevant.
The deciding factor in determining if you're an alcoholic is this: does your drinking cause problems in your work, social, family, and/or personal life? Answering "yes" means you are an alcoholic, and need treatment.

A doctor friend of mine, who is a specialist in addictions, once told me that anyone who drinks alcohol every day is, by definition, dependent on alcohol.

Yes it does. I ate enough for ten people in one 12 hour period and I learned that I was a foodaholic. Make sure you get that under control before your liver stops functioning.

You'd be considered a "functioning" alcoholic. That still makes you an alcoholic though. Try to cut back to a glass of wine or a beer.

I believe the medical definition is 3 or more drinks per day. You are borderline I think. Try and drink less if you can.
