Get foods that solve the same craving.
If you want crunchy, try celery or peanuts.
If you want a crisp crunchy celery is better, or cut up one forth of a potato and bake some chips your self with nothing added (or add small amounts of EVOO) that way it's not pure junk food.

If it's salt, then eat some crackers or bread with salt on it (preferably sea salt ... and not too much just a pinch). Or try low sodium soy sauce.

If it's that comfort feeling (that comes from fatty foods), try drinking on can of coconut milk or get some toast and put some extra virgin coconut oil on it (only 1 TBSP though on one or two slices).

If you are craving sweets, try eating a bowl of berries instead or grapes and cherries. That way you don't go for the ice cream. If you want it cold to satisfy that, try freezing the grapes and eat them straight out of the freezer they taste like little ball pop sickles YUM real grape flavor lol!

Basically it's about choosing healthy alternatives to what EXACTLY you are craving. Chances are you aren't craving the food per say, you are craving the feeling or texture, or taste of the food, or you are craving the nutrients your body knows is in that type of food.
So it's easy once you narrow down exactly what you are craving.

other then that knowledge and will power my friend ;-)

this is all about habit....the first day off junk food is hardest....but just keep telling yourself NO and preoccupy yourself....go out, go on the net, read a really compelling book....go walking or even exercise....but make sure you do NOT snack.
after a week or so your body stops craving the junk....replace any junk food in your house with strawberries...yummy nuts....things like sugar coated almonds for a treat ect
and you will find you dont even crave sweets anymore!!!

I allow myself some, but there are alot of junk items that I'll eat until I explode! For these foods:

I keep them out of the house.

I buy packages that have single servings, like the 100 calorie pack Oreos.

I try to substitute with fruit and smoothies, to curb my sweet tooth.

I take small portions.

I find healthy versions of them, such as sugar-free ice cream bars.

I tell myself all day that I will have my treat after dinner.

Since I have kids, I buy them some junk food, but i keep it to stuff I don't care for much.

Self control and discipline is what will prevent you from eating junk food. You eat only when you see it. So don't go to places where these are freely available. You may read about this more if you want here http://looseweightfree.blogspot.com

For me, I don't have it in my home. I know that if it's something I love, I won't stop eating it till it's finished. And even though I have told my husband this, he still brings certain chocolates into the house as "thinking of you" gifts! It's difficult, but without it in sight (aka not in the house at all), and with the proper support of people saying no you don't really want that for this and this reason, you can do it! Good lUck!

I can't. Who says rehabs is only for junkies and alchies. They need rehab for people like me who wants to lose weight but can not resist tempation to eat a candy bar. If I don't eat junk food I get cranky. Its in my blooood. Don't buy it and you won't eat it. Encourage people in your house to keep it away from your sight.

have self control - dont eat it. Think of how many calories are in it and what you will have to do to burn it all off - e.g. if i eat these fries i will have to run for an hour to burn those calories off - not worth it.
I know i got just one body for this lifetime and i want to use it as long as i can with no heart attacks, cancers, diseases etc.
