Until they have appeared before the magistrate. The bench warrant is issued by the court and is at their discretion.

A bench warrant is typically a warrant filed by a judge for some sort of infraction, such as missing a court date.

Usually, if the person for whom the warrant was filed is found, they are held in custody until the court is able to deal with whatever they were originally supposed to be there for.

For example, if Bob committed Crime A, but failed to show up for his court date, a bench warrant is filed for him. Once he is found, he will be held in custody until he is able to appear in court for Crime A. The bench warrant will be dealt with then.

Also, if the person for whom the bench warrant was filed brings themselves to court willingly, the warrant is often dropped.

until such time as they have a bond hearing before a Judge. Usually the same Judge who issued the bench warrant. how long it takes to get a bond hearing depends on how big the jurisdiction is where the warrant is from.

Until they appear in front of the judge and they say when they get out either with bail or they let them out on O.R.
