First of all, let me say that I don't think it's nice to threaten people with hell.

That said... The truth is that if you don't believe in Jesus, and accept him as your Lord and Savior, you are going to hell.
It's not nice, but it's true.....

Why are atheist so offended? I mean if you don't believe that there is a hell, then you have nothing to worry about. right? And if you chose not to believe in Jesus, then you have to accept the consequences... right?

Why should Christians, butter up the truth? Do you want us to lie? Wouldn't that make us hypocrites?

No, we don't believe there is a hell.

No, we still don't like being told we're going there.

Why?

Because YOU believe there is a hell.

You believe that because we don't accept a god, and then your particular version among thousands, that your "loving" god will burn (or allow us to burn) forever and ever, no end, always, eternally, etc.

The reason you "warn" (aka threaten) us with this doctrine is, admittedly, so that it doesn't happen to us. (Well, the nice among you are truly concerned, some are just being rude as hell... oh... no pun intended)

So, in effect, your god needs fear in order to maintain his following.

Hell is absolutely positively the most disgusting form of mental terrorism there is, has ever been, or will ever be.

"You're going to hell!" is arrogant, rude, threatening, closed minded, divisive, and utterly repugnant... even when said with the best possible intentions.

My friend I may have the same view as you do in respect to hell and not believing but I do keep it to myself. I never tell anyone that they are going to hell.

I act this way because first it is not my place to impose my beliefs on another. I made a choice because of what I see as the truth. I am sure all others do the same as I do. By that I mean they base their beliefs on what they see as the truth.

If ask, I am too happy to share what I see as the truth and why I see it as I do. But if not ask I just say I spend a lot of time reading the Bible and stop there. In fact I never say I am a Christian because I do not know how the one who is asking me about my religion defines a Christian in his view. Instead I say I am a "NO"" and then stop there. I leave it up to the asker to continue with questions or to change the subject.

{ My friend most of the time I do not even know what a Christian means by the name Christian when I hear their words in an explanation and then see the things they do and hear the words they say to others}

I do not see it as a "buttering up of the truth". I see it as attempting to open the door to an opportunity to talk because normally I am ask "What is a "NO"?"

Of course do not lie. Maybe you should say something like,"In my view as I see it I think you are going to hell, but I could be wrong. That is just my opinion, what is yours?"

My friend more flies are caught with honey than with vinegar.

Do have a great day and keep up your studies and do learn a lot.

because it is really really annoying when someone tries to push their beliefs on you and "threaten" you by saying you are going to hell. If you believe that, then fine, but why do you have to keep telling it to me? really, does this get you more points by god? does this give you more wings when you get to heaven? why not just shut up and let me live my life and not threaten me and say if you dont do this, you will be sorry. And you say its the truth, why do you say that? because the bible says? how about the quran? what if allah is the one true god? I am sure you pissed him off and YOU are going to hell. What if Zeus if the one true god, down to hades with you, you believed in Jesus. Really, what makes you think YOU are right? Because your parents said this is the way to believe and it is right and if you don't believe you are going to hell? I think you should base what you believe in more than empty threats and a book written thousands of yrs ago by MAN. I mean really, get off your high horse "Why should Christians, butter up the truth? Do you want us to lie? Wouldn't that make us hypocrites?" Again, why make you right, why is your religion better than mine? Just stay away from me and don't try to convert me, it is really really annoying.

No man comes to the Son, unless the Father brings him. Some people are not going to be brought to Jesus .... because they were not chosen by the Father before the foundation of the world. This plan of Gods is not something without beginning and end, it has both beginning, and end. The potter and the clay .... the potter can make some things for worship, and from the same lump of clay, make other things for destruction. Its predestination, calling, choosing, we tend to think everybody is a subject to be saved, but thats just not so. There are some that will not come to Jesus no matter how hard you try to help them, they are not coming, only God chooses those which will be saved. And the choosing was done before the foundation of the world.

So .... go into the world and preach the gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven, and to all who will respond to it, make dicisiples of these, but to those who will not respond ..... shake the dust off your feet as you leave, do not through your pearls before swine, there are many of God's children who are thirsty, many who don,t even know they are God's children, but they will respond, because God has chosen them.

Those who belong to Satan, are not coming to Jesus, they already belong to Satan, there is nothing we can do for them. Thats why it is written, " do not be equally yoked to a non - believer ". A person should pray for their mate to be sent by God, not by a dating agent, or a local bar, or any other means.

So when you tell a non - believer they are going to hell, it makes no difference. If Satan has not blinded them, they just don't care. We know where Satan and all that follow him are headed, fallen angels, and humans. The lake of fire was made for the fallen angels, but if humans want their part in it, then thats exactly what they will get.

First of all, just because you believe it blindly, it's not the truth. If you believe hard enough that you can fly, can you? Or is the truth that if you jumped off a tall building, you'd fall?

Atheists, and every other thinking non-christian for that matter, are offended, because your "truth" is nothing more than a tool to allow for and encourage intolerance. It gives you an unearned sense of superiority.

The only consequences for not believing in your mythology are your inability to quit telling us about it. That's it.

Christians should actually look beyond their little book for the truth. You're claims of gods are lies, and yes, by nature, you are hypocrites (you don't tell atheists about your 'loving god' to save them, but because it earns you brownie points with your 'god').

I don't know of any Atheists who would be offended at this statement. We don't believe in hell. Because some people believe that there is a hell does not make it so. It doesn't bother me at all if someone tells me that I am going to hell.

Doesn't the Bible say judge not?

When did you become God? Since when was it your choice where people did and didn't go? How do you know for certain that your fairy tale is the right one out of the thousands that have existed since the begining of man?

Your already a hypocrit for judging folks! You guys need to grow up and mind your own business!! It's not about getting offended, it's about RESPECT! LEARN IT!

if they are not asking you what happens when I die if I am not saved? What is your point. Most atheists know what the Bibles says and so do a lot of other nonbelievers. I don't think you are threatening some one, if they don't believe in hell. You are being offensive because you can not awaken the heart of man only God can. If your offense has caused one person not to be saved than yes you are wrong. Your words expose the temperature of your heart and only God knows the heart of man. Thank God for Jesus.

I try not to get offended, but I do think it's wrong for you to pass such strong judgement on me because I don't believe in the same things as you. Are you going to go around and tell every person who isn't a religous Christian that they are going to hell? How would you feel in somebody from a different religon walked up to you and told you that you were going to burn for eternity because you didn't believe in their religon. Everybody has different beliefs. There are hundreds of religons and thousands of degrees, from strict orthodox to extremely lax. You say, "And if you chose not to believe in Jesus, then you have to accept the consequences... right?" but if we don't believe in Jesus, then there are no consequences in our eyes. There is no heaven, there is no hell. Also, not every religon believes in Jesus. Does that mean that every Jew/Muslim/Sheik/etc, etc, is wrong? That your religon is the only one that could possibly be right? Christianity isn't even the oldest living religon. There are older religons that are still practiced, and still older ones that slowly died out. You say "The truth is that if you don't believe in Jesus, and accept him as your Lord and Savior, you are going to hell." but only a certain population believes, more than half the world would be going to hell. And if you believe in God, why do you feel that he made so many religons? Do you think he might possibly have wanted you to figure out for yourself what to believe? Don't you feel that you should allow people to believe in what they wish? I mean, if somebody tries to tell you that you are wrong, go ahead! Stand up for yourself and your religon! But if the person isn't trying to tell you that you're wrong, if they just don't agree with you, don't pass judgement. Let them believe what they want, and they will let you believe what you want. Why do people seem to find that so difficult?

I don't ask Christians to be hypocrites, but too many of you use "You're going to hell" to sweep us aside, as if we no longer have rights or count as human beings. You dismiss us as "bad" without any regard to how we live our lives. Sometimes it can be very offensive. Other times it's just annoying. Occasionally it's actually amusing.

Don't bother to quote the verses. We've seen it all before ad nauseam. You accept the Bible as an authority. We don't. If someone waived a Qur'an, Gita, or Gurū Granth Sāhib under your nose, would you be convinced just because they considered it an authority?
