I blacked out, and started breaking things, I have several bumps on my head and my arm has bloody gashes all down it, I don't really know what started my insanity, I have a 4 month old, I love him more than anything, my husband tried to stop me, but I was out of control, is this just major depression or delayed post partum? I would go to the Dr. but we have no money for one and they usually like getting paid, has anyone else been in this situation?

Oh Sweety, you had what is called a fugue state. That is what some people ball a black out. First and foremost Please understand that what happened is not your fault! You are not selfish! You are not weak minded or any other negative thing you can think of.You just had a baby and your chemicals are all out of whack! You need medications to correct this chemical imbalance.Therapy is also helpful. Yo may not need these forever just for a short time. This is very serious! Get help right away. Don't worry about the cost! Most hospitals can refer you to the nearest mental health care center. These centers provide mental health care on a sliding scale according to your income. They can also help you get the medications you may need (by referring you to the right place)You owe your getting help to your sweet baby boy and husband.

Well, hon, you should be scared. No insult intended. You ARE going to have to go to the health department and get some help. Blacking out is a a sign that all IS NOT RIGHT. Delayed postpartum? I don't know and it doesn't matter, does it? Black out rage is bad, especially when there is an infant involved.
If you love the lil guy(and I know you do!) go , seek, find, MAKE them listen. Lil man needs a healthy, happy mommy.
Good luck to you,
D

I'm glad your husband was home. What if this happened when you were alone with your 4 month old?
Get help. Many hospitals will help you without charging. Go and get help now.
Don't ever be left alone with your child until you get help. It may be post partum depression or something else. Let the doctors decide. They can help you so you can feel safe with your child.
Best of luck to you and your family. You and your family are in my prayers.

You really need to access treatment asap. If you blacked out and you slashed your wrists and don't remember doing that or other events, there's a good chance you have a dissociative disorder. That will not get better without treatment! Consider the ramifications here if your husband had not been home and what could happen to your infant.
Most local mental health clinics operate on a sliding fee basis if you have no insurance and Catholic Charities will provide treatment at low cost or no cost, depending on your financial situation, as long as your local one provided counseling services.

Stop worrying about being selfish...you weren't. You need help and you need it NOW.
You could very well be experiencing post-partum depression; I've been there and it's hell, though I didn't have this violent of a reaction.
Go to a hospital, immediately. The lives of everyone in your home depends on it. If the doctor wants you admitted, don't argue. Get help. NOW!
Best wishes.

Please get help now. Check the phone book or ask someone to direct you to social services in your area. You may or may not have depression. It's hard to diagnose by yourself. Ask your husband to help if he can by talking things through with you so you can try to think straight before things get out of control again. Don't put your child, yourself, your husband or marriage at risk. There's help out there. Even the board of health or free clinic can help of direct you somewhere.

There are ways to get around the money situation. Seriously, you should've called 911. You need to get away from your son before you kill him. Go online, look in a phone book, call family. Do something. I pray you find the help you need and send blessings your way.

Please get help from a doctor. You need to see a psychiatrist immediately, because. you are a danger to yourself. Did any incident provoked this situation? Don't worry about hospital bills for now, don't we all have bills? You should be able to get around that and get free mental health evaluation and therapy. You need to take care of yourself for that baby. Good luck to you.

You sound really depressed. There are usually free clinics that can refer you somewhere. Also what about medicaid or family health plus??? You should talk to someone before you end up hurting your baby.

If you wanted to kill yourself, you would be dead. If you want to stop thinking about killing yourself, get help, there is free help out there. Stop being stressful. Surround yourself with good things. Identify your problems, but don't tackle them all at once. The fact that you used this method, and not something that actually works (can't change your mind with a bullet in the brain), proves this is either a cry for attention, or a cry for help. Once you get out of denial and agree to one of those scenarios, you'll be on track to figuring things out, and know what to do next. For the sake of your child, I hope you get help and be a good mother.
