I believe you're in real pain. I also believe that as an athlete , you are more aware of your body than most of us are. Gymnastics can be hard on a body. The fact that you have chronic wrist pain at 16 indicates carpal tunnel syndrome from repetitive motion injuries in the hands.
Your neck: Sounds like you may be have a pinched nerve in your cervical (upper spinal) region. You may have disc and/or vertebrae problems. Has your doctor ordered an MRI?
The back pain that is worse at night: Has your doctor done any bloodwork on you? Ask him to run a test for HLA-B27 gene. The night time back pain symptom is one of the classic symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis. AS is a tough one to diagnose, as the dr.s always think it's something else, because it also has some of the same symptoms as other disorders. The blood test can confirm a diagnosis of AS.
Good luck to you dear. Hope you feel better soon.

Relax....everybody has aches and pains. It's all part of maturing...and later part of getting old. Sounds like your pretty active, thats another reason to relax. Unless the pain is dibilitating (keeping you from your normal routine) I wouldn't worry to much. Your mind is a powerful instrument; tell yourself it's okay and I probably will be. That said...don't let excruciating pain go unchecked. Your doctor may begin to think your a narcotics seeker and never take you serious.
Muscle spasms usually happen after you injure a part of your back. That might require a doctor to get some prescribed muscle relaxants. Otherwise, try Naproxyn or motrin. Just remember pain lets you know your still alive at least.

It can be really hard to tell what's a normal amount of aches and pains. I'm only 20, and I have unexplained stabs of pain, muscle aches, stomach problems, and knee pain, none of which I've gone to a doctor for, just because I don't know how much pain is a normal part of life. So I sympathize, and I can't really recommend anything except addressing your fears to your doctor, or consulting a therapist. I especially recommend the therapist if you feel that your health problems are constantly on your mind and interfering with your mental peace. Just the fact that you feel you're "falling apart" means you should probably seek counseling.

I'm sorry you're in so much pain.
Sometimes it takes a long time for doctors to find the cause of a persons illness. Because symptoms overlap, and often they are so vague and confusing that it's hard to explain correctly to a doctor. You should keep a journal of all your symptoms.
Hang in there, and stay strong!!!

You could be depressed, see your doctor about depression and see if he/she can help you with it.
You asked am I a hypochondriac or am I in real pain? Neither is exclusive of the other, if you are in pain it is real pain. I know I have real pain, all the time. I am not a hypochondriac, but I am in pain. So you are in pain, no doubt about that. Good luck, see a therapist and tell him or her about your pain and they will help you.

It sounds like you are in real pain. Go see a Dr. Don't think for him, you pay him to do that. And make sure you get your moneys worth.

That's real pain. Sometimes anxiety & stress can cause pain, too.
