This reminds me of a character in some novel from the 20s who said "You don't need god if you have a good car!" So I guess he was already obsolete then.

Not sure what you're getting at. I suppose one could make an argument that the computer has become an idol of sorts. But can it replace religion? I doubt it. Some people need religion like some people need alcohol or drugs. A computer does offer some diversion for people whose lives are not, shall we say, "in balance", but I don't think computers can fill every void.

yeah cause god is the one who will guide u in here and the hereafter not the computer i mean what can a silly machine do that don't even know to avoid Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Of course my PC beats me in chess but in KICK BOXING i knocks him out in the 1st round.

LOL, I certainly worship my computer. Interesting though that religion used to make us feel connected to god, and now our computers make us feel connected to each other...

i totally do NOT get the connection. geese. i'm spiritual, not religious but religion helps so many people. i can't imagine HOW a computer could replace it.
