Film can degrade, especially unexposed film. If it was left in your car, the film can go bad b/c of heat and humidity. Develop it anyway, just don't be expecting a miracle.

Look for an expiration date on the box.
Yes... they come loaded with film, which will go bad in a matter of months if kept inside an air-conditioned house, or will go bad within minutes in a hot car. You know the film has gone bad when you've taken it to be developed and all the pictures come out looking purple.

yes, there is a printed date at the bottom of the camera and you must get it developed by that time. You can still use it, but you won't get it developed if its over the expired date.

No. I am 32 and just found some camera's with pictures of my 8th grade prom. Just got them developed at CVS Pharmacy in less than 24 hrs. Go ahead! :)

the camera doesnt expire the film or batteries do!
shot it at your own risk, cars get hot, film dont like heat, my film lives in the fridge
