Check with your local DMV. Some States/counties require insurance and plates on any vehicle on your property (Ocala Florida was this way). It is possible that you could buy the car (cash transaction since you are under 18) and have the title put in your name and not purchase plates at all. Keep in a storage facility.(if necessary) It would need to be towed there since it doesn't have plates or insurance.

ummmm can't you get some insurance covered with your parents? you do have atleast one right?if you can't personally register it. have your guardian do that, with you as T.O.D. (Transfer On Death) on the title.

yes you always need to have proof of insurance, and don't let it lapse. makes it cheaper that way.

may i suggest my favorite insurance co. for you and/or your guardian to get a quote from: www.progressive.com
