My cat starts growling out of nowhere and finally she gets fed up with it and hisses at her rear end.
I can't check without getting my arm torn off, but could she possibly have worms?

Take her to the vet. Sounds like worms for sure.

There is a problem there and it should be looked into by a vet becasue there seems to be pain involved.
He should check for worms of course, though those aren't painful. He should check the anal glands, one could be infected and being rasped raw by any poop pressing on it. The cat could also be constipated (is she pooping?) and can't get a poop out.
Make an appointment and have the vet check the butt area very thoroughly. Don't wait two weeks to do this either.

Sounds like you need to get the poor thing to the vet. Obviously she is in pain. Probably an infection of some sort or worse, but she deserves to get some attention to make her better.

There's something wrong with her. Especially if this isn't characteristic for her. Our male cat started doing that + we found out he had urinary tract blockage, but he couldn't pee. I dont think thats your cats problem. : )
Could be something to do with her rear. Wouldn't that be amazing if she has a rectal problem + she more or less told you ? I would take her to the vet + get her taken care of with meds or whatever vet advises

that is odd...maybe but only a vetrinarian can say for sure, and prescribe an effective remedy (and it isn't as costly as you may think, my vet checked my cat for worms and administered medication for them for about $12.00)

no,because when she has worms she will have Daria,she probaly smells,or sees something that she doesnt like
