all my cats recently had something similar to pink eye where their eyes were completely covered with gunk and they couldn't see. i washed their eyes out with warm water and they were fine, but one kitten has stopped eating
(which took me a while to notice since they're outside only cats)
as well as drinking and today it couldnt even walk away from me when i tried to come near it (it's not tamed).
i got a medicine despencer and force fed it some milk and water.
i asked my mom if we could make an appointment with the vet but she refuses to! :'(

is there anything i can do to possibly save my kitten besides wut im already doing???
thanks so much for any help.

Keep it in the house, in your room if you have to. Keep it comfortable. Continue force-feeding it until it will voluntarily take food and water.

You can call a vet, explain your problem (that your mom won't let you have it seen), and ask for advice. They'll probably be nice enough to give you some professional advice, as well as a possible diagnosis. If the vet won't help you, call any local Animal Friends-type place (no-kill shelters) and ask THEM.. in fact, it might be beneficial to call the shelter first.

Just make sure to give it whole milk if it's too young for solid foods. If it's got strong teeth and open eyes, you can offer it moist foods and see if it'll take it.. or put the moist food in a blender and make a kitten-food smoothie (mmm, tasty), and force-feed that. Kitten food is nutritionally best, but if all it'll take is milk, that might be enough to survive on.

Just as a warning, if it was too weak to run away from you, it may be too late. That doesn't mean to stop trying, though.. it's just something you've got to have in mind.
Now, I found a cat in a junkyard that was severely dehydrated and pretty well starved. She was still able to walk around, but wouldn't be for long.. we brought her back from the edge, so it's possible. Just be prepared if the poor thing doesn't make it.
Do your best.. and don't feel guilty if it isn't enough. You've done more thus far than most people I know would. Good luck, and I hope your kitten survives.

First, stop feeding it milk. Ordinary milk is not for kittens and you could be making things worse. Give it boiled water and keep it very warm. Even if you mother said no, i would take the kitten to the vet anyway, because it sounds like it is in really bad trouble. Tell the vet you have no money and i am sure they will still try and do something for you. Good luck with it. I hope it lives.

Milk is not the best thing to use. If I find myself in your situation I use half and half, or cream, some liquid from Whiska's cat food, egg yoke beaten, and just a very little bit of syrup for the sugar. Depending on how old your kitten is you may have to feed it several times a day. Don't forget to rub its genitals with a warm wet cloth, gently. This is how momma cats get their kittens to go potty. If your kitten is beyond the age of weaning then it can do this on its own.

hi there. if your kittens eyes have gunk you have to put gentamicin. the reason there is gunk is bcoz it has a bad flu that has spread to the eyes causing an infection. you must clear the gunk and dont let the eyes to close otherwise it can become permenantly blind. if it is not eating or drinking you have to force feed. you also will need antibiotics for the flu. try and ask your mom to take it to the vet. if you do it will have better chances of survival. i am not a vet but an animal rescuer.

It sounds like these are feral cats, that you have adopted. If they are not tame and live outdoors and you simply feed them if they come around, they are feral. You should call the Humane Society and ask them to come set humane traps and catch these cats and take them in. They should be treated for their illnesses. Your kitten may not survive without treatment. And they should be spayed or neutered and given to homes where they will be kept indoors. They will live much longer, healthier lives that way. I know you probably enjoy feeding and watching them, but unless you can take them inside and take good care of them (and that means getting to the vet when they need medical care), they should be allowed to find real homes.

Is it hiding in dark places? I've lived through 3 cat deaths already. When they get close to dieing they stop eating and hide in dark places.
