This new drug was given by my vet for over grooming. The Internet indicates a bad reaction is the cat has diabetes.

should be no problem, but check with your vet to make sure. amitriptyline can affect the glucose level in diabetics, but it can still be taken with caution. call your vet for verification (& your peace of mind), keep up on your kitty's bloodwork & their results - if it affects your kitty's sugar levels, the fix may be as simple as adjusting meds.

Double check with your vet to see if he/she knows about your cat's diabetic condition. If your vet says its fine, ask him/her about the signs of a bad reaction to look out for and what you can do if it happens.

The only reliable answer would have to come from your vet. OR start calling other vets and ask them this question over the phone for second opinions.

you will need to discuss this with your vet. There should be no problems using amitriptyline with insulin. You can't always beleive what you read on some random site on the internet
