I know this sounds ridiculous, but my wife insisted I ask.

She believes in taking off one's socks before turning in, implying that some grievous harm will come to those who regularly do not do so.

Certainly not. There's no harm in sleeping with one's socks on. It would even be advisable to do so if the weather is cold and you want to feel warm. There's really no health problems associated with it.

It depends. Generally NO there is nothing wrong, However if you get too warm with the socks on then your feet may sweat and sleeping 6 hours in sweaty socks MAY cause athletes foot but again that can be fixed by putting a touch of gold bond powder on your feet before you stick them in the socks. Thats the ONLY thing I could figure though.

Sounds to me like anti-sock sleep disorder.

First you take off your socks..the sheets feel so cool, so smooth to the touch. You are tempted to take off more, but you refrain because the wife says you may have an anti-clothing sleep disorder if you do.

So basically no, there are no health risks as long as you wear cotton perhaps...gotta breath you know.

I really don't know, but it's probably better to sleep with them off. Your socks will be moist and warm by the end of the day, and perfect for bacteria to breed.

If you are clean from your bath and put on clean socks, I don't see any harm in it. In fact, I do it all the time. I hate the idea of bugs crawling on my feet if they get uncovered, and you never know... Besides if you put creme or lotion on them, you don't want to get it all over your clean sheets. LOL
