How do I type on the computer in Japanese...?

I have an English keyboard how do I type in Japanese on the computer? Please give me a step by step on how to do it?

You'll need to download a Japanese IME (Input Method Editor) if you haven't already done so. You can download it from Microsoft's website or here's link if you want. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=CEED31CD-15A9-4B86-AFE5-E77A095599F3&displaylang=EN

Once, you've installed it, there will be a little blue box with the letters "En" on your task bar at the bottom of your screen. If you click on it, you can switch between English and Japanese.

I'm not exactly sure how it words in Japanese, but in Chinese, you just type out the word in pinyin (roman letters) and then hit the space bar. Then you'll see the character pop up on the screen.

I have Windows XP, so I'm going by that.

Go to: Start-> Control Panel-> Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options-> Regional and Language Options-> Languages (Tab)-> Details-> Under Preferences click 'Language Bar'-> Click 'Show the Language Bar on the Desktop'.

That should do it, if not, message or email me back and I'll help you further. Also try enabling Japanese and other Asian languages on your computer.

I have not downloaded Japanese fonts, but they are available. I think you can even get them free.

these are how you type japanese alphabet (hiragana, katakana)

a i u e o
ka ki ku ke ko
sa si su se so
ta ti tu te to
na ni nu ne no
ha hi hu he ho
ma mi mu me mo
ya yu yo
ra ri ru re ro
wa wo nn

if you know how to write 'kanji'
you just type same as 'hiragana' 'katakana', and use space bar to change
if appear another kanji, you keep push space bar
once you foud desire 'kanji' you push enter key to determine
