There are many cars with a great Gas milage, for example Nissan got the Versa (spacious interior and cheap) and Sentra with 36 miles per gallon I have a 2002 Sentra and it's great even thought I had a major accident with it and I drawn it once and it's still running great. the other choice is Toyota either Corolla or the new one YARIS it's cheap and cool and has a great gas milage, I would recommend a Hybrid car but I'm worried about the prices of the batteries that you'll have to change after five years and I heard they're not cheap at all. for me I advice you to buy the car with the best milage and stick with the Japanese cars and don't do Honda it's as good as the other brands but it's over priced I think....good luck

Well, you definitely should not go to a dealership for help. That is exactly what they're trying to do. You should do your own search online. If you go to different car manufacturers websites', they'll have the information on all of their different models. To actually give you some help, I'd need more information as to what you're looking for, you'd need to narrow things down. Such as whether you want a car, SUV, or truck? Small, mid-size, large? You can send me a message or an email, my email is my screenname and I can give you some help. I've been a car salesman for 4 years, but since you're not at a dealership, I can't try to force you into any buys, just give you information. If you're interested, I can help you look.
You should consider these factors:
-gas mileage
-how many people it can seat
-safety features if they mean anything to you
-brands, American VS. Asian
-whether or not you go hybrid
-specific budget
-new or used
-and any other things you specifically look for, such as leather VS. cloth, CD players/radios, A/C, power windows, etc.

1) start off with how much you want to budget for your new car
2) gas mileage expectations...minimum expectancy.....
3) what safety factors are important to you...
4) do you have a family, is it just you, will you have other needs such as trunk space, seating capacity...4-6 passenger...
5) factor in reliability and costs.... while foriegn cars are riding the wave of the most reliable most cars built today are all of good quality....
6) warranty info....and maintenance costs....
go back to the dealers with a note book and sit in different cars how do they feel for comfort...you will be in the car for and hour plus each way per day..... comfort will be an issue... are there features you really want..... cruise control, auto wipers, tilt wheel, etc.... by making your list and doing simple research you will find making your choice easier.........and will also make getting a good deal verses impulse buying....only to find you bought a car that you do not like or need but you are stuck with your impulsive buy...good luck.....read consumer reports on the cars......as well as customer satisfaction.....
of my top choices for picks under $25,000 mini cooper, ford focus, ford ranger, toyota camry, and all Hyundais ...

Honda Civic hybrid.
Since you drive alot of miles, you're not so concerned about the batteries getting old due to age. You'll probably want to trade it in before you need to replace them all.
You're more concerned with mileage and depreciation.
Hondas in general hold their value very well against high mileage and age.
If you get something off the beaten path, you may pay less for it, but you'll have a worthless boat achor at the end of the lease, or after 6 years of ownership.
With the Honda, you'll have something of value to defray the down-payment on your next car.
But try to get a job closer to home, you're losing alot of time and gas-dollars driving that distance everyday.

Even though they are ugly i would have to suggest a toyota prius. 40mpg and it is alot safer than a yaris. As for the dealers, try going to a city if you are in a small town, the better prices and variety are in the cities. If thats too pricey get some sort of honda, they are the most fuel efficient cars on the market.

im gonna go with a mini i hear it gets 32/40 mpg highway and its stylish
if you want more speed you can get the cooper s w/171 hp and the mileage is 29/36 so its a good car for someone who isn't looking to have too many passengers
the price for the mini cooper is under 19k and the cooper s is almost 22k

Take a look at the new Ford Taurus. If that's too much car then there is the Fusion, and still getting smaller the Focus.
The Taurus received the safest car award for a full size car.
If you are ready to buy, email me, I may be able to help you.

Have a look at the Honda Civic. Very good mileage, reasonably priced, very dependable by consumer reports, and will probably have the best resale when you are done with it. Go for a test drive and then decide, can't do much better than Honda Civic.
