The dog is my brothers he said he should only eat 3 times a day. We have cat food on the floor for the cats. And the dog eats that. The dog eats everything. Please HELP.

He should be fed according to his Age, weight, daily activity, and condition... every dogs requirements are diffrent. Hes not eating the cat food cause hes hungry its just cause its available and tasty. Call your vet or local dog experts and ask what a dog his size should be eating. Pitts range in size they are not all conformationally sized especially if he is not a registered show dog. 3 times a day is fine if its like a cup or a 1/2 cup and hes getting regular exercise.

Dogs love cat food. They will eat it any chance they get. You should put it up where the cat can still jump up and get it, but the dog can't. A lot of dogs are food motivated, and they will eat whenever they see food. It's the owner's job to determine if the dog looks healthy and not to fat/skinny, and then adjust the dog's food up or down if necessary.

well for right now i would take the cat food and put it in a room that only the cat is allowed into or set it up higher so the dog can't get to it, cats can jump. i could try maybe 1.5 cups/3xday..see if that works..some dogs will just eat and eat, without control, so that is why you have to control it..do not let him eat the cat food, that is very bad for him. good luck

i had a female pit bull
and it depens on wat food u give her
if its the cheap kind shes gonna want more
buy ukanuba thats the type i would gave my dog
and she only at about half a pound a day
but this is a full grown pit bull im talkin about
if its smaller ur gonna want to give it less
read the chart in the bck of the packege
also try not to over feed it
or it will get used to that
and make sure u give it plenty of exersice
sum times they eat because theyr bored or depressed

i just want to say that the person that said feed it until its not hungry has obviously never had a pit-- they will eat FOREVER until they get sick and then they will eat some more-- well call your vet and ask them-- but we feed ours 2 times a day which is quite sufficient and they are completely healthy we feed them 3.5 cups per time but they are also VERY active so this should also play a part in how much you feed them-- but like i said contact your vet they shouldnt charge you anything for just a question

well...i feed my dogs twice a day...they aren't pittbulls but they are fairly large...all dogs would rather have cat food than dog food because cat food contains more meat...but it isn't good for your dog. move the cat food onto a table where the dog cannot get it....he may not eat his own food at first (maybe for a day or two), but fear not...he won't starve himself.

According to our local papers they could eat one small child each day. That may be hype to sell papers however.
