The priest went after boys not girls. It is a subculture of the gay community

It is sad because this was unacceptable it grew in to a hidden life for many. So instead of tools to correct this than they went underground so they could take advantage of the innocent.
Today it is trying to made expectable which is the other far side of the pendulum and not the answer as both sides are wrong.
Some think that if celibacy where removed that this would help and to a degree it would as each man and yes each woman has desires that will deal with each and every day.
But on this subject it is about a sick and evil desire to have men and beyond this young and innocent boys which is pure evil just as to want young girls is also evil
NOTE to the left. (you do not like the word evil , to bad it is and so is animals. Get over it and face what it is.)
Each person must find a way to deal with what is in side of him and not give into the temptations of the dark side of the mind which all have. What defines us is the way we look at this side and how we deal with it. A note (we all have different things and the asked subject is not on every ones mind.) The few here on this are so sick with he evil to think and than act on their deviances and to seek to hide to obtain it than take advantage of the innocent. Be it boy or girl or on four legs for that matter or some one who seeks control from a hatred deep with in over a woman.
They are all predators and to be one they must have camouflage to conceal who and what they are. They must be unmasked and to find the fox you must guard the chicken house with the greatest of care. this can be applied to every aspect of life as people by nature seek to gain the advantage and control.
A book that I think every one should read would be " People of the lie" It is the most comprehensive book that every one can understand and give tools to deal and know when they see a fox or wolf who seeks to the most evil in every day life. And this with the priest is every day around us.
Yes it is a sublevel of the gay and it is of the worst kind. We all most stand guard of the ones who need our protection and never let this happen. These predators seek to mask in order to get close to what they seek.

There are pedophiles in all walks of life, so as far as that's concerned it's neither. It becomes a church issue when their superiors covered it up in an effort to avoid bad publicity. I also believe these offenders are not Catholic priests but rather monsters in disguise.

F*cking little boys has as much to do with the Gay community as grown men f*cking little girls has to do wit the straight community. Most children are abused by heterosexual men.
This is a church issue. Not only the rapist priests, but the Chruch's administration and the vatican covering that stuff up.

It's a human issue of pedophilia. The Catholic priesthood attracts pedophiles because they know they will have easy and unsupervised access to young children. The children are molested by men they think ignorantly are their Christ in person and too intimidated to report them. The child abusers should be banned from the Catholic priesthood.
In fact, the Catholic priesthood should be banned.

If the church had taken some kind of positive action instead of opting for a cover up it might have been a community issue. The way it was handled, though, makes it a shame filled church issue.

It's a sad issue. It is not all Catholic priests. It is every day people. They walk around like they are normal.
It happened to me, and my children.
You know what I mean about It. Right?
some people don't care if you are a girl or boy.

It's not a gay community issue, that's for sure. No one in the gay community ever tries to cover up an act of pedophilia. But the Catholic church has done so repeatedly.
(Not to mention that the priests are guilty of pedophilia with both boys AND girls.)

It's a Catholic issue.
It's not the Bible that says a minister of the gospel should not have a wife.
As a matter of fact, an elder SHOULD be the husband of one wife says 1 Tim 3:2.
Jesus says we should be servants of all, not "priests" over the flock of God.
Matt 23:9-11
call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

I think it is about paedophiles using the church to hide out in and get them selves in a position of trust

It's wrong and every case is diffrent. Like Jesus said their wolves in sheep clothing. Not all priest are bad.
