Both are not proved... Scientists are trying to prove, however that Evolution is real. It's the same as he theories how the dinosaurs were wiped out. ALL OF THE THEORIES ARE NOT PROVED! Therefore, Evolution and Christianity are both unproven. Sorry to tell all of you this, but I am. Now you can go on fighting! Any questions?

Well Jared.... I know a lot about science. Everything in science doesn't make sense, and you can't depend on books. And if Evolution has been proven... how do we know for sure? There is no real evidence. All there is that primates evolved. How do we know for certain that if NO ONE has been around for millions of years to actually have seen, instead of just suggestisn that Evolution is real? Same with God.

"I'm going to prove that..." and where is the proof you proclaimed you would provide?!?!?!?

Evolution is a proven fact. It's the reason that there's a new flu vaccine every year or two (the virus evolves). It's been demonstrated in nature, within the last 100 years (galapogos finches). Transitional fossils have been located, and verified.

Your comment about the 'theories how the dinosaurs were wiped out' is wrong from the start. There are only hypothoses concerning the reasons for the extinction of the dinosaurs. When these hypothoses are proven to be correct, then they will be theories. The technical definition of theory is not 'guess'.

Christianity has yet to be proven. All of the supposed evidence is suspect, with none of it originating during Jesus' lifetime.

That is not proof, it is just an opinion .... Oy Vey and people say that "I" am ignorant; here you go people a non-believer who doesn't even understand what a "scientific theory" is in the first place.

Okay, let's take this closely; first of all my faith is strong enough that I do not feel the need to 'defend' it. Secondly, G-d is powerful enough that I know He can handle all attacks on His Own. Now, that I have addressed your "opinion" of my relationship with G-d (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Let's see what science says about your statement "ALL OF THE THEORIES ARE NOT PROVED."

Theory, my scientific definition: the 'vessel' so to speak that allows scientists to organize research and tests, to understand an earlier observed 'event' and that then allows for the prediction and creation of future observations.

For a scientist, theory is a conceptional struction, which they use to predict new ones and / or explain current observations. To scientists they must meet certain criteria.

The criteria is broken down into
(empirical)
(a) be empirically testable or lead to predictions or retrodictions that are testable
(b) actually make verified predictions and/or retrodictions
(c) involve reproducible results
(d) provide criteria for the interpretation of data as factual, artifactual, anomalous or irrelevant

(historical)
(a) meet or surpass all of the criteria set by its predecessors or demonstrate that any abandoned criteria are artifactual
(b) be able to explain all of the data gathered under previous relevant theories in terms either of fact or artifact (no anomalies allowed)
(c) be consistent with all preexisting ancillary theories that already have established scientific validity

(logical)
(a) a simple unifying idea that postulates nothing unnecessary ("Occam's Razor")
(b) logically consistent
(c) logically falsifiable (i.e., cases must exist in which the theory can be imagined to be invalid)
(d) clearly limited by explicit boundary conditions so that it is clear whether or not particular data are or are not relevant to verification or falsification

(sociological)
(a) resolve recognized problems, paradoxes, and/or anomalies irresolvable on the basis of preexisting theories
(b) pose a new set of scientific problems upon which scientists may work
(c) suggest a "paradigm" or problem solving model to help resolve these new problems
(d) provide definitions of concepts or operations which will help other scientists solve problems.

Faith has only two 'spectrums'; Logical positivism, basically denies the validity of any beliefs which are held by ‘faith’. And Fideism holds that true belief can only come about by faith; because reason and evidence can’t lead to faith.

Christianity, like all other religions, is a set of principles or beliefs that are derived from theological virtures held together by denominational doctrines; based on loyalty, belief, and trust in G-d. It can't be proven or disproven by science, because there is no way to test 'religion', 'faith', 'belief', 'loyalty', or 'trust'; these are emotional responses and therefore unable to be measured with the use of scientific methods.

Edit:

Theology = Originally from Ancient Greece, however during the Hellenistic period its meaning shifted. It appears in the heading of the Book of Revelation written by John (an apostle of Jesus the Christ), “apokalupsis ioannou tou theologou”or “the revelation of John the theologos”; this is “one who speaks the word of G-d”. Patristic times = devout, inspired, teaching, and knowledge of the essential nature of G-d. Within scholastic Latin it is the rational study of Christian doctrine. Medieval Greek and Latin sources understand this as “theologia” or “an account of the record of the ways of G-d”.

There is also a branch of Philosophy that derives itself from Aristotle’s work, Metaphysics, in which he said “the first cause was the unmoved mover”. G-d is metaphysical, because He is a distinct being, this also lends itself to Epistemology (nature, methods, limitations, and validity of knowledge and belief), Philosophy of language (relationship between language and reality), Philosophical logic (contents of thought, truth, influence, rational thought, in most fundamental ways possible, and to model them using formal logic), and Moral Philosophy (values/customs, right/wrong, good/evil).

G-d = in the Christian religion (Monotheism – Only One G-d), He is Creator, Sustainer of life, Omnipresent, Omniscience, Omnipotence, Omnibenevolence, the Alpha and Omega, and others – (too many to go into detail here). It is interesting to note that G-d is “omniscience” this can be inherent (ability to know anyone one chooses to know and that can be known) or total (knowing everything that can be known). This is where free will also comes from; G-d chooses to limit His Omniscience, so that we have that freewill and our own dignity. But it does not take anything away from His infinite knowledge and control of all things.

Duh - it's already called "the theory of evolution"! It is called a theory because it cannot be proven beyond doubt. However there is a hell of a lot of substantiating evidence. And scientists aren't trying to prove evolution because they are more interested in finding fact and so far their discoveries support evolution.

True, however everything in life is theory. Debate can only come about based on theory.

There is plenty of evidence AGAINST EVOLUTION:.

First, the 'Cambrian explosion'...... the millions of fossil types in Cambrian rock (oldest fossil bearing rocks) appear suddenly and fully formed and without any previous forms...IOW, there are no transitional forms.

Most well educated evolutionists, when forced to, will admit it, but very unwillingly, and even then they always want to seem to make new excuses for it. Usually they just don't say anything about it and hope noone finds out.

It is amazing to me that those who push evolution theory so vehemently don't even know what most evolutionary scientists have said about the fossil record....

Even Charles Darwin was honest when he confesses in 'Origin of Species'; " But as by THIS THEORY innumerable transitional forms must have existed, why do we NOT find them embedded in countless numbers in the crust of the earth?" -Charles Darwin

That free radicals cause things like cancer (and that antioxidants combat them) is still "theory" but it doesn't stop reasonable people from placing a rational bet with good probabilities on multivitamins

On the other hand, numerous cancer patients have been prayed over and still died ..... ponderous
