yes - there's a shell that can only be broken from one side.
perhaps there was an incidentt when someone was younger that taught them everyone they love will get hurt. maybe they themselves built this shell to protect themselves from some real or imagined hurt. the barrier might be transparent until you're close enough for it to become an issue. then- boom.
when there is a fear of love, i see a total distancing from any allowed happiness. an emotional braking point , and a gradual call to retreat. it's a self-preservation instinct that may be the best for someone, at that point in time. to try and 'crack' it is wrong, because it's so a part of who that person is: tapping at it and seeing if there's an answer might be a better tactic.
maybe further life experiences will help the person shed that wall, but fear can be replaced when one is brave enough to 'try again', and trying again comes when one is offered a chance to trust. offer a chance to trust again, and if the circumstance seems right, you just might meet success.

yes...when they only see the bad things about it and not the good ones even if they have it in front of them!!!
That´s how easy it is. They always talk like they don´t rely on anything or anyone...
so sad...
