I do not look into the health/diet areas of Yahoo! Answers too much but it seems like, even when I'm just looking through general questions, there is quite an abundance of girls, teenagers, and young women posting questions about whether or not they are the "right" weight. Are their measurements "okay" or "right," what's the best way to lose 20 lbs. in 2 days, etc., etc., etc. The answers they get are even worse: " You can lose 20 lbs. in 2 days by..." I know there's always been a problem with self-images and self-esteems of young women but man...:<

Good question. It's hard to tell if these image issues are worse than they used to be. With all the exposure to each other on the utubes and faces and spaces, maybe the "ideal" is getting more and more fantasy than reality.
Kids: eat a healthy diet and exercise some. You don't have to go off the deep end and get freaky about it; just watch out how you take care of yourself. If you have specific questions, this is not really the forum for answers. Talk to your parents or doctors or do some real research on the web.
Really, the internet is such a great tool if used correctly. When I was growing up, all we had was Worldbook Encyclopedia! (Ask your parents if you don't know what that is!)

I don't look at those diet places either. it's this media thing that does plays with our minds. Blame it on Twiggy for starting all this. I heard that when it comes to being healthy it isn't your weight but your waist line that you should worry about. A lot of athletes weight wise are overweight but it's muscle not fat. I have since put my scale in the garage where I can't find it. I only start worrying when my jeans feel too tight.

it is scary, but it depends on the reasons. Do these girls want to be at a healthy weight, or are they just looking to satisfy their peers? After all, America is the fattest country in the world.
