I've read a lot of stuff written by Jefferson and never came across that quote.
What letter or document is it taken from?
PS: I have found quite a few misquotes of Thomas Jefferson's on the web and I have fallen into this little trap myself. Now I focus on researching what I read on the web back to the original source and I cannot find any such quote in Jefferson's papers.
PPS: President Jefferson was the first President to have been politically attacked for declaring a war on an Islamic nation because of state sponsored terrorism.

Guess what? Only Thomas Jefferson and God knows where he is! You can't tell by the way a man lives. We don't know what Thomas Jefferson ask of God before he died, no matter how he died. I'm no judge! He could be in Hell or Heaven. If he gave his heart to Jesus, then he is in Heaven. If not... well he is in hell. Christianity doesn't give any one the right to JUDGE! Only Jesus is the true judge!

According to the Bible, Thomas Jefferson is dead and buried and waiting for his resurrection just like all the other people who have ever died.
Heaven is not necessarily the reward of the saved, Hell is not the punishment of the wicked.

Perhaps you should really read a Bible?

In the ground. Why would anyone think that they have a possible asnwer to this question? If you are looking for some controversy, than ask about someone who did bad things, not just talked about something that you believe without seeing.

Hell is a place in Michigan, half way between Lansing and Anarbor (check a good map, you'll see) -- I doubt he was buried there.
I'm not sure where Heaven is, but according to Belinda Carlisle its a place on Earth, so he could be there :-/

He was not a Christian, or that is what the common belief is. So if you had to ask a Christian that question, I would say he is in Hell. Too bad, he was a good President.
