CKC papers?

Question

I just registered two of my AKC dogs with CKC also. How long does it usually take to get the CKC papers back?

All of my dogs are AKC reg. with CH bloodlines but all of my pet puppies will be sold with CKC reg. Only breeding and show quality pups are sold with full AKC.

Jennifer, I have to disagree with you. There is nothing "glorified" about their papers. They are plain toilet paper!

If you are registering them CKC so that they can not be bred, it isn't going to work and you are wasting good money. You can sell your "pet quality" puppies with limited AKC registration. Or, even better yet, do as I do and have a spay/neuter clause in your sales contract. My clause offers $200 back to the new owner once they have proof that they puppy has been fixed. Forget registering them CKC (continental kennel club)a waste of time and money. If you are registering the litter through AKC (and you have to register the entire # of living puppies) then you will get that many registration forms for the puppies. When puppies are sold you MUST have a SALE CONTRACT for what specifies what a show/breeding pup is and what pet quality pups are. You must include in the contract what a buyer must do with a show/breeding puppy ie. how many times they must show it, finishing to championship, testing prior to breeding, breeder evaluation at 6 mos that the pup IS show/breed. quality, that you stay on as co-owner until contract is complete etc. and for pet pups the dogs go on limited AKC papers, must be spayed or neutered before 6 mos etc. I always registered my puppies BEFORE they were sold that way registration forms could not be changed or forged. And the pups were registered in my kennel names and could not be changed.

CKC as in Canadian Kennel Club? About 4-6 weeks. CKC as in the disreputable Contenental Kennel Club? It doesn't matter. Their papers are nothing but glorified toilet paper.

Then why not use the Limited Registration with the AKC? At least the AKC won't register any pups if the buyer was irresponsible enough to breed them. The Con KC has no such morals. They'll register anything. And if you screen buyers very, very well, you can feel more assured they won't breed. Why not hold on to pups a few extra weeks and get them spayed/neutered before you place them, or make the appointments for the puppies before the buyers take them home, and remind them when the time comes. The first you can add to the price and be certain of unwanted litters. The second will keep you in touch with the pups, but doesn't offer much control.

With the Canadian Kennel Club or the Continental Kennel Club?? Surely you wouldn't register your AKC dogs with a fake kennel club.. Has to be the Canadian CK eh? 6-8 weeks at most.. Depends I think on how many litters have been born and how busy they are.. Since you can register online now.. The turn around is amazing.. SO it might be quicker.

If you're talking about the Continental Kennel Club, it was a waste of your time and money. Those papers aren't worth paper there printed on.

Again its a waste of money. Normally breeders sell pet quality puppies with limited registration. This still qualifies them to be shown in sport type events, but not conformation. Pet quality puppies are also sold with spay/neuter contracts, you could take the puppy back if the person doesn't follow through in a certain amount of time. Even if they did breed that puppy, the offspring would be unregisterable with AKC due to the limited registration.

You are just helping to create backyard breeders of the future by doing what you are doing.

it shouldnt take more than 2 weeks did you remember to send a copy of their akc papers and the money order for the services you ordered if it's been more than 2 weeks call their toll free number and ask if they've recieved your applications yet heres their web address http://www.ckcusa.com
