I'm thinking about getting a tattoo but what is the official age?
And does the lower back or foot hurt more?

Most states have it mandated that you must be 18 no matter what. If your states laws are like this and a shop is willing to do underage tattooing do not go there. If your state allow underage tattoos you will need a parent or legal guardian there with proof of ID, they will have to sign permission and stay. I beleive you have to be at least 16 also with proof of ID for yourself to prove your age. You can't just get one with a note or someone 18 or older. Okay, pain is relivant to you and you alone. What hurts for one person could be nothing to another and vise versa. You wont know which will hurt more until you get both spots. Lower back tends to be easier because it's fattier and there is less direct muscle with exception to the spin. Check state laws and call around to local shops. I would still suggest waiting until you are 18 or older so that you are more mature but within the permamiters of the law it is your body. Think carefully before getting anything. Happy tattooing!

You have to be 18 years old to get a tattoo legally anywhere in the United States. And don't get a lower back tattoo. It's skanky. But the foot hurts more.

i dont know what state you're in or what the laws are there, but i know most places now want you to be at least 18 with a valid picture id. and i dont know about the tattoos because i dont have one in either place, but i would think that the foot would hurt more being that it is probably bonier than the lower back....the lower back has a lot of bone but there's more chances of you having a little bit of fat there than your foot i would guess.

Official age is 18, but with parental consent you can have one at 16. I wouldn't have one under the age of 18. Gods know I didn't even know who I was at 16!!!
