Unfortunately, that is probably true. When these extremists plot to murder others, don't they ever consider the long term consequences? Suicide bombings are becoming an almost daily occurrence and almost exclusively being done by Muslims. These are not military actions against military targets and military goals. They are motivated purely by hatred. And it does seem that Islam hates more than any other religion.
What will this do for their children? When they blow up thirty people in their own neighborhood, don't they know that it is seen around the world? And every time, it makes the whole religion look worse and worse, since that is the one thing they all have in common. What kinds of international attitudes are they leaving for their progeny to deal with?
They need to use a little logic, like this: "Look, we deliberately target and murder innocent people at least a couple times a week. Surely others around the world will hate us more and more for it. What are we gaining for our children by doing this? What will happen if our enemies become as ruthless as we are?"

Caliman, I agree with your point, but the reason there are so many suicide bombers is *because* they believe it is holy and will be rewarded. They will be considered martyrs. They will get a famous ritual burial. They will be greeted by 77 virgins when they get to heaven. Oh, sure, they most definitely *do* believe they will be rewarded in heaven.

The only thing that they can possibly gain by the killing of Americans, is the satisfaction of killing. There is no way possible that they will gain any territory, or show their religion in a better light.
Of course, the killing of Sunnis and Shiites by each other is a different story. That's a fight for control. Each wants to get their Mullah or Imam in the dictator chair that Saddam sat in.
The suicide bombers actually believe that they're going to get those seventy-two beautiful, young, black-eyed virgins in paradise.
I wonder why none of them question where this idea comes from. They should know that the religious leaders are using them as suckers, for the Imam's grab for power.
So even if they sneak some bombs into America or England, I hope they're not stupid enough to think either will surrender. They should study what England went through sixty years ago, and came out on top at the end.
Hitler's great plans blew up in his face, so will the next, and the next, and the next. No one country, religion, or group will ever control the whole world. Just ask Mussilini, Togo, Hitler,or any of the other big loosers.

They incite people to think negatively about the religion they "endorse" while they are only endorsing their own violent acts and justifying them in the name of religion. I guess you can call it pseudo religious fanaticism without the zest and with more killing. Everyone knows that killing innocent people will not get them rewarded here on in heaven.

Terrorism is always counterproductive, because it unites all your enemies against you. Only a deeply disturbed mind could ignore that evidence and believe God wants to you to kill innocent people. Religion can make terrorists out of any extremist.

of course, terrorism is ignorant and violent.
too bad Islam is being maimed for these stupid talibs looking for some attention, and the innocent hostages who are being killed.

i am a Muslim Afghan by the way, and i would like nothing more than all the filthy terrorists, talibs, and fake mullahs and corrupt theocratic politicians to be brought to justice.

thanks to stephen harper, this will soon be a reality.

lest we forget the terrorist acts that occured for years in Europe and it was not Muslim faith based....terrorism is a way for the one with little or no voice to control the majority by using terror to express their views when they have no chance of a majority......
