Think of all the Elvis impersonators out there! Yes, there are people out there who do look similar to us. They are known loosely as doppelgangers. There are only so many facial characteristics genetics has to choose from so there is bound to be some overlap. Take a look at some of the photos of your own
ancestors. Are there any you could be mistaken for? I know I have an aunt whom I resemble a great deal. Your twin need not be in China-they can be in your own home town!
Here is neat website of a Canadian photographer who focused on look-alikes. There are varying degrees of closeness. See what you think! Yours may be out there!

Have we not met before?

On 2 December, Québec photographer François Brunelle launched, for the first time in the United Kingdom, his project I am not a look-alike ! at Gallery 1885 in London.

His project is a collection of photographic portraits of look-alikes, from Canada, America and Europe, and will be the subject of a book. The opening night was a huge success: “I had a great evening and met a lot of interesting people and made some valuable contacts. I could feel the energy in the room and this event will definitely be a turning point in the project” said the photographer.

François Brunelle is still on the lookout for look-alikes. The originality of the project lies in the fact that the look-alikes, even if they are extremely similar, are not related. The artist has already photographed 120 pairs of look-alikes, including five in Europe, but would like to bring the number to 200.

I wrote a journal about that in the first grade, I remember it slightly, when I was going though my junk piles at home I found it.
For some reason, I wrote really small, because I was embarrassed about what was in my mind, so what I said was that, although may be not in china, there is an inside crust to the earth, and they did the exact same thing as us, except it had different circumstances. And then There is also a world that does everything the exact opposite of us... And it was just crazy!

Anyways, i used to think so, not sure if it is true, but is a very good question!

(BTW, Ever read the "Christomanci Quartet" or Certain books of the Xanath series? They have similar theories, but I didn't read those till much later. I believe the Authors are Diana? Wayne Jones, and Piers Anthoney( I'm sure P.A.))

No. And actually, scientists have debunked the myth that even identical twins are different. Not true! IDENTICAL twins even have the same finger prints and DNA! That's the idea with identical.

But no, to answer your question. There is not someone who is your twin anywhere if you don't have a genetic twin in your household. However, there might be people who look very similar to you, but that is as far as it goes.

Yes, this is true to a point. I went to high school, prior to graduating back in 1988, with my twin, or a very close like-a-like anyway, and he hated me with a passion because he was a snot *ss whose parents had tons of money who lived in a quarter of a million dollar house and I was a "low life redneck" whose family lived from paycheck to paycheck who lived in a rental house. He used to come up to me and would tell me all the time that he found my appearance offensive and that I need to do go visit a plastic surgeon so that we won't look alike. I would inform him that if did not like the way that he looked that he needed to do something about changing his appearance because I wasn't about to change mine. I would really piss him off by referring to him as my twin and calling him "Brother."

I doubt that we have an exact twin, but possibly strong resemblences. It seems there are a certain amount of molds that everyone fits into. It would be scary to think there was two of my ex husband out there.

My husband has a twin but he no longer lives on the other side of the earth...he lives a hundred miles north of where we live.
