No not really, they actually had a bonus few months back I was putting someone in the Guard who wanted that MOS.

I remember "Joel" the donut eating putz who was the Chaplains assistant when I was going throughbasic @ Ft.Dix in 81. Why would anyone join the service to polish the Chaplains Knob? What does that job lend itself to in the Civilian World?

Bullet Catcher? Hardly, Haven't heard of a Chap Asst being KIA.
Chapains catch their own bullets& there's plenty of them on War Memorials WorldWide on all sides.

Get a Job that has some valuable skills that will make your experience in the service worthwhile

You don't want to be a Chaplain's Assistant. There's only one skill level.

I can't say with certainty for the Army but in the Navy, yes. The guys refer to the C.A. as a bullet catcher for the chaplian...

it's a tough MOS to get into. You may have to wait quite awhile for one to open up. It's a selective service as there aren't many that are needed and those that are in tend to stay in. Therefore much harder to replace.
