God watches over Israel
Bible passage: Jeremiah 31:10
Written: sometime from 626 to about 586 BC
Fulfilled: 1948, etc.
In Jeremiah 31:10, the prophet said that God would one day gather the Jews back to Israel and that He would watch over them like a shepherd. Believe what you wish, but there is evidence that God indeed has watched over the re-established nation of Israel. Hours after Israel declared independence in 1948, the surrounding countries attacked, hoping to replace the Jewish state with an Arab state. These countries are much larger than Israel. But tiny Israel prevailed in that war and was able to capture additional land, increasing the land size of Israel by 50 percent. Israel also prevailed in the two other major wars that followed.
Jeremiah 31:10
"Hear the word of the Lord, O nations; proclaim it in distant coastlands: 'He who scattered Israel will gather them and will watch over his flock like a shepherd.'

I've seen no evidence that there even is a god. So a book could not be the word of something that likely does not exist. Not saying it doesn't exist, just that there is no evidence either way.

Exegesis is the science whereby scholars determine the correct interpretation of the text. The Bible is unique, for it is the word of God coming to us in the words of men. Therefore, biblical exegesis demands that we find out what both the human author and the Holy Spirit are trying to say.
The scholarship of the early church fathers was matched only by their holiness. Hence they speak to us with authority even today. They are also unique in that they are the link between the apostles and us.
This does not belittle the work of scholars and exegetes today. To accomplish their task they have to be fluent in the biblical languages and in the history and geography of the ancient Near East. They must muster archeology, paleontology, anthropology, oriental psychology and many other specialized sciences.
Over and above these sciences, the Christian exegete must take account of the fact that the Bible was given to us, in both its Testaments, by a living tradition. The literature side of it can be studied with the tools of literary analysis, but only the believers who passed it on to us can interpret the revelatory aspect. That means that the Jewish community today is the authority today on the Old Testament as the Hebrew Scriptures. The Catholic Church is the final authority on the New Testament. It is also an authority on the Old Testament since the Christian community inherited the Hebrew Scriptures and therefore has the right to interpret them according to the light of Christ. Also the earliest Christians were Jews, and the learned among them, like Paul, could interpret the Jewish Scriptures authoritatively.
Peace and every blessing!

Absolutely NOT!!! And He is going to do it again when all the nations rise up against her. Can't you just see the hand writing on the wall with the signing of the 'land for peace' deal? How much more stupid can people be??? Did ANYONE REALLY believe that would bring peace? And that psycho in Iran doesn't even try to hide the fact that he wants to wipe Israel off the map. Man are we getting close!!!! Come quickly Lord Jesus, come!!

The Holy Bible is the word of God. Yes God has and will continue to protect Israel! This is one of the main reasons you can tell allah is not God and the quran is not the word of God. The islamic prophecy is that Muslims will kill all remaining Jews and destroy Israel. That is what the terrorists are working for and what all Muslims believe, but they are so wrong!
God Bless.

Yay God! Did the Bible say how he would give the Israelis more bullets for their Sten guns or more diesel for their tanks? Say what you like about Israel, they have prevailed by human will and ingenuity, the corruption and disorganisation of their enemies and cold hard American cash, not by the magic spells of some volcano demon.

Nope. The Bible is the Word of God.
"Your word I have hidden in my heart that I may not sin against You."
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God."

I can't. I love the Lord. For me to deny the Word as His Dictation would mean I deny that The Holy Ghost told me that Jesus is my frind, and that He was the Last Blood Sacrifice.
