The area is about an inch long between her belly and inside of her back leg. It's not red or swollen at all and she has no pain from it at all. It look as if someone has taken a black felt tip marker and dotted her about 30 times with it. She has had these for about 9 months npw and although they are not increasing in number, they are not decreasing either. She does not have fleas, but does have other determologic issues with tiny bump like sores on her back when given too much people food. What are these black dots and are they harmful to her? Someone told me a while back that they were cancerous cells or like a skin cancer in dogs? Do you think I should take her to the vet even though they do not bother her and remain unchanged? Thanks in advance for your answers!

I wouldn`t worry. My dog, and every other dog i've seen has this. I'm not quite sure what it is, but I'm 95% sure that therr is nothing to worry about.

If you still don't feel comfortable and sure, just call a clinic and they'll explain it to you.
