My God is about love, and since the Bible is based on His teachings, why it is often used to condemn? And spread hate, in His name. Is that what God, intended, or mans way, of vindictiveness? Furthermore, if it is against His will, shouldn't it be left for Him to decide?

My first thought when I read this question, "Should Scripture Be Used, To Condemn?," was that you could use it to start fires if you want. That said, the premise of my response will be a bit misanthropic.

The scriptures, God, and someones teachings? Stories picked through, and chosen by the Vatican to further its hold on feeble-minded people. The years following, people censured broke-off and started their own religions still based on the many versions of the Bible. Continued control running the gamut from ultra-conservative to ultra-liberal teachings based on stories about "someone" that "existed" leaving NO historical proof of existence.

I don't need proof to believe in humanity, but I do need to know that not everyone is a follower of a "just because-mentality" ...

In my opinion, no Holy Teaching should be used to condemn. A true scholar would find the passage that makes the same point with a positive quote or directive. It is easy to look at some-one else, and say what they should be doing according to such and such a verse, and quote the worst consequence.
Spreading hate is not Gods will, but human will. God is above vindictiveness, but people are exceedingly good at it. God, the higher consciousness will decide, not man, about the worthiness of each of us, in due time. Our purpose is to be the best we can be in creating our place in this life, and to uphold the spirit of our higher calling. Be responsible for ourselves. That will keep us way too busy to be nasty to others based on a difference of interpretation.

If so, it is not Scripture. You have at least an oxymoron in the first result and a depraved corruption in the last.

This, the interpreters both then and now had and have as little if not less light on the understanding then as do so many people continue to evidence now.

Be ever careful and watchful of those who would call theirs that of the priestcraft and thereby are the devices that God does intend. Little could be further from the Truth.

Stay with your conclusive inquiry and resolve that yours arrives on point with Truth: and I quote, "Furthermore, if it is against His will, shouldn't it be left for Him to decide?"

Indeed ! Well done. Q.E.D.

Scripture is used to convict. If someone doesn't listen when they are convicted, in time they will be condemned by the words they read and their decision to reject them.

It isn't our job to judge or condemn at all. It's God's job. He states strongly that it is His job, His right, and will be in His time.

We are a fallen people, and sometimes we do things in God's name that God never intended. We get all worked up about things that God intents to right.

My God is a God of love also. He gives up ample, repeated times to choose the Truth. If we turn away and continue on our path, we WILL stand before Him and account for our actions.

no, christianity is meant to love and spread love and the word of god and his good news. no one has the right to condemn, bible says let he who is without sin cast the first stone. that's because no one is without sin, therefore no one has the right to judge another person except god himself, he is the only one who led a perfect and sinless life. so if someone of the christian faith, uses the bible or their religion to condemn someone else, then they need to take a step back and look in the mirror, because they may not be committing the same sin as the one they are judging but it is guaranteed that they are sinning at something else.

Because man fails to see that it's about His love for us. That has little to do with how we treat each other in this world today.
God requires complete surrender and that's hard for any one even more so for a confident man. As long as Jesus is the world's religious leader the others such as Muslims can't advance theirs fast enough to suit them. So them with lack of faith or false faith will tear at the word until they find one obscure passage or several to back up their blaspheme never saying the why or how or what followed. It's man's sin nature. Not God's Nature.
God Bless!

If someone feels condemned from a scripture,,maybe it is because they are guilty of a sin, it points out. It often is not condemnation you feel, but conviction. God loves us enough to tell us how we must live to make Heaven our home. If we use a scripture to try to make someone see how they are going down the wrong path,,is is not hate,,,it is love for that person. The same way we would warn them if a snake was about to bite them...

Remember,,sometimes you can love them to death.

Please do not confuse condemning and judging with an intense caring of others, that we do not wish to see them perish.
If you saw someone step out in front of a bus, wouldn't you want to save them from being killed? Likewise, we, as Christians see those around us heading into a path of destruction all the time. If we don't warn them, they could go to Hell without even being told of the good news that there is a way out. If we didn't care, we would just stand by and watch that "bus" hit you, and it would all be over with. We tell you the truth out of love for you, and mainly out of love for our Savior, Jesus Christ. I know a lot of people take offense to what we have to tell them, but if we lie to you, and say "Do what you want, it will be ok" then, we will be the cause of your damnation.
If you saw your loved one about to fall off a cliff, wouldn't you try to save them? That's how we feel as Christians, and we have to tell the truth, not sugar-coat things to make you feel good for the moment.
I agree that we should do this in love, and not anger. But, don't you think people should know about Hell, so they won't want to go there? Jesus thought so. That's why He told us about it. Out of Love!!!!

Friend: The scripture presents man at his best and and his worst. Scripture does not condemn us, it confronts us with the opportunity to choose the best or the worst as our lifestyle.
I choose to work on becoming the best I can be and it is a never-ending job. By the way God does not expect us to be perfect just to always keep working at it.

the Scriptures bring forth awareness and confirms that mankind is already condemned. The wrath of God abides on all those who refuse to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as written in John 3:36. But the Good News, as so many Christians know, is written in John 3:16. But please don't forget John 3:36 for all of those not abiding in the truth.
