Use a small kennel cage for the dog to sleep in it and be all day unless you are paying special attention to him, if not put it in cage. The size had to be enough for the dog to enter turn and lie in it, for a silky terrier small. Take the dog out in the morning to the place you want him to go potty and repeat that fraise, "go potty" until he or she does it and reward him with a treat and a good rub when finished. Then at noon do the same. Leave the dog in cage if you are not looking at him or paying attention to him directly no matter what. This is harsh but works, let it there no matter how hard it makes noise. I say noise because it is going to be ear piercing with a silky terrier. In a couple of weeks you will se some change in his behavior and if he does it out side of his potty place, say a loudly "NO" and get him to his potty place and to the kennel. It work with most dogs, potty training is potty training no easy way out of it, but is better than a unclean environment for you and your dog.
Good luck and bewst of wishes. Dogs are just that dogs and need to be trained.
PETA coment not goin to be treated by me lol, best of times to you and your dog.

Well housebreaking for a puppy can take days, weeks or even months. Depends on you and the puppy. When your pup is in the house try to keep your attention on her. If she starts to sniff the floor ask her if she needs to go potty and take her outside until she does. And like the other answerer said praise her when she does. Lets her know this is the place to go and your the person to get her there. At night most dogs don't like to be in too close of quarters with their own waste. So put her in a confined space like the bathroom or a pet carrier. No food or drink after an hour before bed time. When you do feed her about 20 minutes after is a good time to take her out to potty. And again just before bed time.

First of all, how can you say PETA rocks when you don't even know how to house train a puppy? I doubt you have much idea what PETA is really about. With that said on too your house training. You need to take your puppy out more often. Take it out after it's done playing, sleeping, and eating. You must stay outside with the pup until it goes potty, praise it and bring it right back in. Otherwise it may think it's outside to play not potty. Pick one word to use such as pee or potty to train it with. Say let's go pee or potty and continue saying the word until the pup does what your saying, praise it and take it in. Crate training helps with potty training also. I recommend you look into it.

If you really knew about PETA, you'd know that they are agains pet ownership and would take your dog away from you if they had their way. If neutering or spaying is unethical, then what do you propose we do with the millions of pets killed every year because they have no home?
