I was in the grocery store today and I pass by this two girls speaking spanish to each other very loudly, I cringed alittle(you know! like spanish is being forced or crammed in my ears- I cant turn them off you know) ....but whatever, life goes on, anyway i went down the next aisle and looped around again and they they were again this time they were facing the other way and were blocking the path, people were piling up behind me, I assumed they didnt speak english so I decided to just try and squeeze thru, the closest girl turns and with her eyebrows squished together says in English- "you could have said excuse me", ...irritated I immediately blurted back "lo siento~ arrepentido" VERY sarcasticly- (means SORRY in spanish) and then I told her "how was I supposed to know that you understood english?" I think they were surprised that this whiteboy knows spanish- and then they hurried away from all of us Americans with our eyebrows pushed together!! Viva la America!! Engles por favor!!

Amanda, your racially biased- you did not mention anything about the girls inconsiderately block the whole aisle in a crowded store, and you ignored the way she responded, she could have said, "oh I sorry! since there were like 8 of us just sitting there, and what about talking soooo loud - obviously very arrogant and inconsiderate just like YOU!

You were rude. You assume they don't speak English.. first mistake, some people do speak two languages like you are beating your chest about. And then you push through. They were blocking the aisle, waaa waaaa.. old people in Arizona do that all the time, guess I should just assume they can't hear and knock them down.

Get down white boy with your bad @ss!! Good for you, I'm 100% mexican and I would have done the same thing. Except you were nice about the whole thing, see I would have just gone straight with my grocery cart and if I would have hit them, oh well. I can't stand hearing my mexican people on the phone at the mall or where ever talking loud, my husband and I just say, I guess they're just trying to show people they can afford a cell phone. I know this will probably upset some of my people, but it's true. Just like going to a party that a mexican is throwing, the women wear every piece of jewelery they own, and wear fake fur. Please!!!!

You were the one who assumed they didn't speak English. Maybe they were speaking in spanish so no one could understand what they were saying to begin with. It bothers me when people don't say excuse me and I speak english. They were having a conversation amongst themselves, that is not any ones business. I hear different languages all the time and I don't feel I am forced to hear it. If you knew Spanish you would know that it is Ingles. If you said arrepentido then by the tone of your question you were not very remorseful.

I think you are a very rude person. Just because people speak another language doesn't mean they can't speak and understand English.

Your "assumptions" about people are going to get you in trouble some day.

Millions of people in this country speak two or more languages. I think you are a bigot.

I think you have a deep seated anger towards people of Hispanic descent, yes its true no one wants all the illegals flooding in here but how do you know they weren't legal and preferred to talk in Spanish. I agree we should put up a fence and controll the situation but many people of Mexican/Spanish descent live here and we shouldn't be rude to them because we don't like the current Bush open borders policy.

I`m sorry, but your story doesn`t make sense. If you knew spanish, why didn`t you Just say "excuse me or pardon me"in spanish? If they had their backs to you, why didn`t you speaki and acknowledge your presence? Sounds to me you took advantage of the situation. I am against illegals as much as anybody, and I think english should be spoken, but the way you tell the story, you never gave them a chance.
