We call ours a "service engineer."

We have a different service engineer for our mammography unit, our CT scanner, our MRI machine and our x-ray room. In addition to working on the machinery when something is "messed up", they also do preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis.

A "technician" is either the old term used for a x-ray technologist (which is now incorrect), or it is a limited permit technologist who can only do certain x-rays.
