I just got my chinchilla about a week ago he is a pink and white :). Now i think i might be giving him to much food or too less. Since he is only a couple months i cant give him treats or alpha cubes yet! How many table spoons of pellets should i give him and how much timothy hay?

What i do, is i dont give my chins tablespoons i give them 1-2 hand fulls a day if the bowl is empty ^ ^ alfalfa hay cubes i give them every once and a while, i give them a hand full of hay everyday. You don't have to actually be so exact about it. It's fine trust me! Also it doesnt make a difference when you got him, you can give him treats! Unless if this chinchilla is under 2 months old. this chin should be breast fed, or hand fed. But if it is older than go ahead and spoil him!! It's ok. If you anymore questions, here is very helpful forum though it is a uk site, there is also and oversea forum too!

These sites should help answer your questions. While other foods should be limited, grass hays like Timothy hay, should always be available.
