My landlord does not want to give me his social security number. Should I contact the IRS to get help on this issue.
I pay over $2000 a month for rent and would like to report it to the IRS. My landlord is a major AO, who is getting rich, I do not think he reports all his income.

If the rent is within the course of a business, you can file a 1099-Misc with the rent in box 1. If the landlord does not want to provide you his social security number or the corporation/LLP tax identification number, you can contact the Internal Revenue Service for assistance on this issue.
If this is personal rental it would be improper to file the 1099.
Realize that if it is a business rental, you should be looking for a new place to rent as soon as your contract is over.

You cannot file a 1099 for anyone who is not employed by you. Sorry, renting a house isn't considered employing anyone. What he does with his income and his taxes is between him and the IRS, not you. Renting is also not a tax deduction for you, only interest and property taxes are and renters don't do either.

I don't understand your problem here. If you don't like paying $2000 a month... move to a cheaper house. Your landlord may be paying that much if not more to the bank and the county for property taxes.

You can't file a 1099 for the rent you paid. Your landlord isn't doing work for you. 1099's are not issued for rental payments.
