It is from too much ear wax. Flush your ear with running warm water until the clog has washed away. If this does not work you need to see a dr. and have the wax removed

The first 2 answers are correct. If that doesn't work, dip a Q-tip in some hydrogen peroxide. Just a little. Swab it carefully into the ear and tilt your head so it goes into the ear. DO NOT GO DIGGING IN THERE WITH Q TIP. The peroxide will break up any ear wax stopping the water from draining.

The cause is capillary fluid retention due to surface tension. Surface tension is also the reason insects could walk on water and reason for droplets on leaves. After you wash your plates or vegetables, no matter what you do the water just won't drain away.
You could look up Wikipedia on surface tension, I am sure.
You can break up the surface tension using a surfactant like detergent or alcohol. But I wouldn't pour alcohol or detergent into my ears.
Personally, I always let the water dry out within 15 minutes.
But, I am thinking if you could try dipping a cottoned stick (is it called q-tip?) into alcohol or vodka and then carefully applying the tip into the canal of your ear.

Lay down with the clogged ear turned downward. If you want, lay on the couch with your head on a pillow with the clogged ear downward. It will eventually drain and you will feel the water come out.

Wet a piece of cotton (small enough to fit inside your ear canal) with rubbing alcohol. As soon as you put it in all the way, if there's water in there (that's almost certainly the problem) you'll instantly feel a warm rush as the water comes out. Just be sure to make the cotton long enough to reach it so you can pull it out. It has worked for me every time-I've done it this way for over twenty years!

Lay on that side with your ear faced down( make sure you put a towel underneath) so water can run out.

Put your hair dryer on the low setting and put it near your ear for a few minutes. Best of luck!

I mix 1/3 rubbing alcohol and 2/3 water in a baby bottle and squirt it in my ear, tip it up, jump around and dump... makes it feel better, anyway. (You can increase alcohol percentage if you feel it helps, just don't dump straight rubbing alcohol in your ear.)
