let me rephrase that, why not?
if you believe the first one your more than likely going to some kind of "hell like" afterlife and if you believe the second than your just gonna die and your existance is pointless,
So why don't you need to know?

OK than, so who created the atoms/energy force/whatever it was?
How did they appear?

which makes more since a God that created everything from atoms and DNA to galaxy clusters moving on their own pathes and the whole Universe they still haven't seen an end to.
or
nothing for eons of time (then from nowhere ,for no reason, and nothing to form it, a blob appears, the blob is there for sometime.Suddenly it decides to get a match, lighter or some other method to light its own fuse.BOOOOMMM or should I say BANG.The tiny peaces start to dance and form atoms. The atoms continue to fly (and dance) to form planets, stars, and even life.

My opinion is that it's more credible to believe in two atoms hit each other and the universe appeared in a bang. Just as you are wondering who created those atoms, and if god does exist, there will be further question of how he exists. Thus, just as it's more credible to believe the universe created from those 2 atoms, it's also more credible to believe to the closest of knowledge we can reach. (that doesn't say which one is true, though, and there's more concrete proof to the 2 atoms thing) Since, human knowledge/understanding is limited. And maybe because of that, we can't perceive a certain things in life. Again, opinion

Yay, agnostics were included on this one!
And neither are credible or real - however, if you think the second is what the Big Bang is about, you need to do a little research because you've got it all wrong.

There is more credibility in the 2 atoms theory. Two atoms/cells/nucleus have combined before (see atomic weapons) There is credibility in science and the theory of big bang. there is ZERO repeat Z-E-R-O evidence of th bible and the asinine stories it portrays.

One should not really feel anxiety about things beyond one´s control. You can´t change it, anyway right?
By the way, I don´t believe in either of the hypotheses.
I´m only sure of one thing:
I don´t know and I listen to possibilities: One interesting one is the brane theory, check it out, it´s interesting.
