I want a tattoo on my neck and I want it to be visible but there will be times where I have to keep it hidden. For example, I might have a job that frowns on tattoos. For anyone that does have a tattoo on their neck is it easily hidden by collared shirts for example?

It is not that I want to keep it hidden but there are times when I will not be allowed to have it shown and that is when I want to cover it.

I don't have a tattoo on my neck, but a co-worker of mine has one in that general area and she usually wears shirts that cover it. Depending on where you work you will be able to show it off and get away with it. Where I work we can not show off tattoos that are on our arms, so a lot of us that have tattoos in other places (ankle for example) don't hide them or cover them. But all in all you can cover it up with your hair or a shirt with no problems.

i would say getting a little bit lower, like below your neck at the very top of your back, that way any t-shirt can cover it. Or simply getting in in a place where you can easily show it and hide it whenever it is necessary.
Hair and scarves are good ideas but if it's hot, you won't want to deal with that, and with the hair you will simply forget and tie it back

i imagine the neck would be painful. thin skin, little fat, near bone, and VERY sensitive. i have to agree with the first answerer, as much as i LOVE tattoos, depending on your life situation, a neck tattoo may not be the best spot.

Getting a job is a lot more fulfilling than a picture of a dolphin/butterfly/old english writing/chinese symbol/tribal on your neck.

Why the heck would you get a tattoo if you are already thinking about hiding it? I have two tattoos and I want to show them. I just think you should not get something permanent if you are already wanting to hide it.
