I also agree pub not the place for children.
I live above the pub my partner runs and our 3 children are hardly ever downstairs.

Not all parents are the same and no amount of moralising will change this fact.

I am saddend that some people would rather these children continue to sit bored and understimulated rather than tolerate a public house setting aside a safe area in wich to draw, play and socialise themselves!
Parents give these poor tots no choice, but may at least choose a venue that suit's both parent and child.

As a broker I have not heard of an insurance company reducing rates for 'child-friendly' public houses, nor have I heard anything in the market for reducing rates as smoking is now banned (not many fires happen as a result of smoking and there was of course no liability attached to permitting smoking).

I am certainly all for providing children with a safe area with interesting and stimulating activities available and do see some in pubs with restaurents/ dining facilities attached - it could even be beneficial business-wise to attract customers. The problem of course is to endure that the area is safe, monitored and children can't escape!

children should not be in pubs, they should be having fun at the park, swimming fun fair or doing things that kids like doing, not sitting and watching there parents getting pi@@ed.
