Because the end is near, and Satan is working overtime to brainwash as many people as he can!
He knows the end is near, so he knows he hasn't got much time, he has to work harder than ever, to try and win as many people to his side as he possibly can!
He knows without a doubt, that he is doomed to Hell, and he will stop at nothing to try and drag as many people as he can down with him!!

The bigger question is why in the world anyone would believe in GOD almighty. Look around you.... besides the sort of cult mass hysteria out there about religion, what do you see that even vaguely suggests that there is a big guy in the sky looking out for us.

I understand that the idea is kinda neat. Just like when you were a kid and had a mommy and daddy to make sure everything was right, and to make sure you behaved appropriately and to punish you when you did wrong and to reward you when you did right, it is a cool idea that as an adult you can have the same thing. You just have to suspend disbelief, convince yourself that GOD is real, and (miracle of miracles) you will believe that GOD is real.

Of course, if you suspended disbelief, convinced yourself that an alien culture planted us on earth and watches us with flying saucers in our everyday lives, you'd believe that too.

Don't delude yourself into thinking that you need to believe in GOD to avoid evil. You are actually permitted to have values (like killing is bad, being nice is godd etc.) even without believing. Good luck.

Most people do hold some sort of religious beliefs, but there are many more religions than Christianity's branches. Many religions don't recognise the word, "sin," and those that do seem to have a pretty broad way of defining it.

There are even spiritual Atheists. While not believing in a Divine Creator, they find that they believe there is a soul--or in the case of many, a shared source of energy.

Faith is a brush that paints in broad strokes.

perhaps it's because we're aware of the alternatives now. the monotheistic god just doesn't make sense to a lot of people anymore. sure, there is an ultimate entity of some kind, a summation of everything in the universe, but is that necessarily a single god, and does it necessarily even notice something as puny as a single human?

sin is a completely relative concept. i do a lot of things without guilt that you would probably consider sinful, but i still live by a clear moral standard based on respect for everything around me. it doesn't happen to be the ten commandments or hebrew law.

also, your question suggests that you are judging people. wouldn't most monotheists consider that a sin?

For some people, they require the proof of God's existence prior to having belief in him however, for those who have faith they know that God exists. God has set down good rules n conduct for us all to abide by, but some humans cannot or will not conform 100% because they find it either difficult, boring, restrictive etc. and are unable to fight they're desire.

heres my take on that subject. In the bible it says that jesus is seated at the right hand of the father, and he will come again to judge the living and the dead right?
but after 2000 pls years of waiting shouldnt he have come back by Now?.
Also if god created adam and eve(1 male and 1 female),and they had 2 sons(only 2 children)then how did we(the world) get to like 30 billion people unless someone slept w/ their mother.
And if thats not enough im still confused by jesus and mary magdalin(A saint, and a whore)

they do !!! about 80% of americans believe in a god or supreme intelligences.but the problem facing christians for the last 30-40 years is which god are you talking about.when christians speak about god they need to clarify it's the lord god almighty of the bible that were talking about. also the bible says in the last days mens hearts will grow cold.kids will dishonor there parents, slander, malice, greed, sexual immorality etc...sound a little about todays people.

When it was discovered that priests had been molesting children for decades and God never showed up to intervene, people realized that either God doesn't exist or He is mentally ill. Most are choosing non-existence.
