I have been told numerous times by Christians that the reason I am an atheist is because "You want to live an immoral lifestyle so you deny the existence of God so you will not have to be accountable for your sins." This has got to be the absolute worst attempt by you people to find an excuse to hate atheists. If I really wanted to use a religion to justify bad behavior, I would become a Satanist, not an atheist.

There is no justification for bad behavior regardless of what you believe in. Only a temporal self satisfaction. When people talk they expose the temperature of their hearts. Why would an Atheist worry about sin when they don't believe in the supernatural thats silly. Thank God for Jesus.

Yes, I get told that many times too.
Those Christians that do that, are most likely people that don't have an education or are just plain stupid!

I thought that Christianity was about love and peace and accepting others. Or, maybe I'm wrong, because I'm an Atheist and not a Christian?

For those of you that are reading this and thinking that I'm stupid, well, let me tell you something...
I know I may be stupid, but all I know is that I'm smarter than most of the 12 year olds answering questions on here.
My whole family except my brother is Christian, so I know what some Christians may be talking about, but I might also be lacking knowledge, since I do NOT study Christianity.

Atheism is so misunderstood. I've been told that atheists worship the self, or atheists hate god. How silly.

if the shoe fits.the bible says not to hate so i don't hate you.think about this.why are christians trying to convert you.it's because they care enough about your soul, and were you will spend eternity. it's not for your money(true christian)it's about your soul you can't put a price on that.but the lord gives free will to choose.if you choose to reject him, then you have to suffer the consequences.all decisions in life come with consequences.some little some HUGE some eternity.nobody can choose for you it's up to you!!!

Do you believe everything you hear, and that coming from prepredudiced persons that are repeating what they hear from the pulpit? You need more self confidence.
Arn't you assuming things about satanists or whatever?

that is true..........they think that not believing in God is the direct opposite of being a christian......... but it isn't in the same field....Satan is in that field .....( the negative vs the positive .)
but not believing the field exists doesn't compare

I could care less what they think. Their opinion of me isn't going to make a difference in my life nor will it affect me one way or another.

that's baloney. i am a christian (non-denominational) but atheists can have morals and values just like anyone else. don't let a few die-hards get to you, brother.
