I DO believe. I support you, if you are a believer in God. If you are not, then consider it please.
I will update my answer based on what is posted so far. It is illogical to require proof of that which cannot be proved by human means! I'm not necessarily talking about you mr math. You're just making the statement, but I'm being proactive, because I know some bonehead is going to post that cliche, circular, response to this question.
You don't go to Oklahoma to test for volcanoes. Oh I'm sure some dumbass would. But not within the realms of anything that actually makes sense. Same with faith. Faith can not be proved or disproved by means that make sense to a limited being such as a human. So ummmm....just keep that in mind people. there are actually rules for proving and disproving things....not just mathematically, but 'proofs' based on math that actually DO make sense, and you can't use rules for one thing and apply to them to things that do not subscribe to those rules.....duh.
Again....this isn't aimed ant anyone, so don't go getting your a.s.ses all clenched up over it.....it's a general statement that I KNOW someone is going to try and deal with.

I don't really see any reason to believe a god exists, there are no signs of one and there is evidence that there is no higher power, all the classic questions like why do bad things happen to good people come into play with this question, also the more I think about it the more sense it makes to think that religion was all invented to encourage good behavior which is a very good thing but sometimes people get carried away and it backfires

Well, why DO you believe in God?
The only way people believe in God is "faith" that he exists.
Without faith and without physical evidence to believe in (Hold on people... You have faith that He wrote the Bible through others, but that isn't evidence... it is "belief.") you really don't have any reason to believe in God.
You must gain "faith" in order to believe.
Now you CAN believe in a superior being/energy/force... or something else by reasoning that we are different than our surroundings and therefore we question how we got here.
But when we boil it all down, no one can "prove" God exists, he/she can only have faith and the belief that He does.
g-day!

There's no reason to believe there's a god. Religion is literally just stuff written in old books to try to explain the world around us in a time when science was lacking. Now that we're able to examine things scientifically, it destroys the psychological need for there to be a god.

I'm right into the KISS principle.
Honestly and as simple as I can, it all hangs on the lack of evidence.
I searched for the Invisible Sky Critter since I first heard about him when I was seven.
Now I'm 60 - I can assure you there's no Sky Critters watching every thing you do, think and say 24/7.
There is only yourself to answer to.
I chose to do the right thing cos it's the right thing to do and for no other reason.
I choose to take responsibility for ALL my actions - there's no god or devil making me do anything - that's nothing but a cowardly cop-out.

my research on the subject tells me that the church is founded on Roman principles and traditions.... just before the roman empire turned into a religion the Roman Catholic Church... it's leader, the emperor called himself god... and I believe that this tradition along with his plans for world domination continue through his catholic church.... so in the end the great god all knowing and all mighty the bible thumpers talk about is none other than the pope, kind of works like the wizard of oz.... so you convinced me that your god is real.... do you expect me to be impressed?

There is no empirical proof that any deity exists from any religion. Without proof it just isn't real and therefore does not need to play a part in my life when I have other human beings that can.

I assume by "God" you mean the god of Abraham?
I've never seen any reason to believe he exists.
I think his utter failure to help the Jews in the 20th century is a clear indicator he does not exist.

In the entire time that humans have been on Earth we still haven't come up with a shred of evidence for any god, let alone your god in particular.
