Not really. Was in the Navy, and thinking back it was the right choice.

I have thought about what would have happened if I would have joined the Marines. Of course I also ask how would I have done in the Navy, Air Force or even the Coast Guard. When I was 17 it came down to the Marines and Army because I wanted a harder physical challenge than the USN or USAF(recruiting station did not have the USCG). While I wish I sometimes I could have gones to MCRD San Diego to experience Marine boot camp cause it is the hardest, the things I have done in the Army like Airborne School, and two combat tours I think are something to be more proud of than graduating from MCRD would have been. So I am proud of my decision and while I think about what if I will never regret my decision to join the greatest land fighting force in the history mankind: The United States Army

All I know is that there are alot of people that Pretend they were Marines. It's a phenomenon actually theres a name for it but I don't remember what it's called. That question frequently comes up on military.com forums asking whether someone is really a Marine or if they can find out if that person really was one. It happens with Navy Seals too.
I actually tried to join the Marines when I enlisted. WAYYYY back in the day it was done by county. (not sure if it's still done that way). All the slots were filled (female) and my parents were moving so I had to do something. There were no openings for another year. I literally bumped into the army recruiter as I was leaving with tears running down my face and we talked.
If I hadn't joined the Army tho I wouldn't have met my husband. and we've been married 26 years.
No i'm not sorry. I have ended up adopting the neighborhood Marines they call me mom and I'm happy.

Honestly, yes the Marines have nice uniforms and everything but there is alot more to being a marine then that. Alot of Marines that I have met and my bro is one, they tend to not have the respect as some of the other branches would expect. I thought about becoming a Marine but seeing them changed my mind. I joined the Air Force and went into their SERE program. www.gosere.com, I feel that i made the right choice because everyone is a great person in the AF and some of the marines are alright... Its truely your choice and go with your mind and what you think is right...

I'll be honest.

Looking good in a uniform and having the ability to tell others I'm part of an "elite" fighting force were not even close to being on my m ind when I joined the USAF.

If I want to be "elite" then I'll be a PJ, Combat Control, or TacP.

Being that the "blues" are only worn every so often, I'm sure there's plenty to choose from on the market that will influence perspective around me just the same.

I joined the army and every time I see how much discipline the marines have I wish we still had that kind of respect for higher ranking soldiers in the army. We have lost that with all the fast track promotioning and the younger generation of NCO's it is BS the way some of the NCO's let the soldiers tell them the thing I have heard, any way enough about that, how come every marine I come across that's all they talk about is how great it is the wear the dress blues? just be honest

I thought once or twice that I should have joined the Marines. At first, the Air Force did not meet my expectations. I figured there would be a lot more physical demands and discipline no matter which branch you joined.

Then, I wised up. I am very proud of my service.

Not a service member, but I must say those dress blues are mighty sexy. Good Choice! I'm a big supporter of the Marines for more than that though.

No.

I would not have gone flying with my CO every Tuesday meaning:
No gun runs on tour boats on the Rhein.
No following the tram up the mt. at Koblenz.
No strafing of Lamas.
No auto rotation.
No low level over the vineyards
No low level over Schloss Strausse.
and
No sleeping 300 yards from a sheet load of tacticle nukes.
No days without beer or girls.
That last one sums it up in a nut shell!!!!!!!!!!!!
