See this is why I never believed in the separation of Denominations. You're both Christians. Quit arguing over the small stuff. Read your bible and listen to your heart. The message of Christianity is not whether you need to be baptized it's LOVE. Love your God, and Love your neighbor as yourself. That's why this world is going down the toilet. Everyone keeps arguing over church doctrine and forgets the message. Read 1 Corinthians.

Do you both agree that the other one is saved? That is the only issue since both churches agree that that is the most important thing and that people from ANY religion can be saved.

If so, stop worrying about it and more importantly, stop debating about it unless youre able to do it in a way that doesnt cause problems (make sure she agrees its not causing problems).
If the debates continue, they should be for the fun of the debate, not to try to change anyone's mind.

Do that and you'll be fine. Your beliefs are very compatible as long as you focus on what you have in common instead of a few tiny differences.

Cant remember where, but doesnt the Bible say something about fleeing those who would cause division in the church? Work together, you may be able to get others from each of your churches to do so. Cross-denominational meetings are always a great time as long as no one tries to steal members. And theyre a great way to get things done in the community since youve got the resources of two major denominations working together on a project. Be an emissary from your church to hers, not a reason for her friends not to visit a Baptists church if they want to. She should do the same.

The only true happy medium has to be the Bible!

The Bible does not contradict itself, so if you two believe things that contract each other, then at least one of you must be in error, contradicting the Bible. Search the scriptures to see which is true! (See Acts 17:11)

This may be difficult because you both have things that you have been taught all of your life, but you must look to the scriptures with an open mind! Let the Bible determine what you believe!

Look at each scripture in context, consider who is speaking, who is being spoken to, the time (before or after Christ's death and resurrection, etc.), and the events in that setting.

Try to see what the Bible says before you make up your mind! Determine you will submit to what is taught in God's word, even if it disagrees with what you have always believed! If you will not submit to the Word of God, then you are not in submission to God!

I am a member of the Church of Christ. I invite you to investigate the things we teach by comparison to the scriptures. Receive the word with all readiness of mind and search the scriptures to see if it is so!" (Acts 17:11)

In learning more about the church, you will also be able to understand your girlfriend better!

Perhaps the easiest way to learn about the church is to take a Bible study course. Most congregations offer a free bible correspondence course. Just call and ask any local congregation.

If you would rather, there are several available on-line. There are a few links below where you can either take a course on-line, or sign up for one to be mailed to you. The first link is a free (confidential) 6-lesson video Bible study.

Please look into these with an open mind.

Compare the things taught in these courses to the Bible. Look up the Scriptures cited. Read those scriptures in their context.

If the things taught agree with the Bible, ACCEPT THEM! If the things taught are not scriptual, REJECT THEM!

Let the Bible answer you Bible questions and let your Bible determine if your belief is right, your girlfriend's belief is right, or you both need to adjus your beliefs!

Submit to God by submitting to His Word!

It may not seem like a big difference now, but if you marry someday it's likely to become a problem. I don't know how serious your relationship is or your age, but it might be a good idea to let her know that if you are to be the future head of the household, this is an area where she would need to submit to your lead. If she has a problem with that, that should be a red flag.

Baptist and Church of Christ make a good pair. There are differences but they are small and both can work it out. If neither change so what.

um let be yourselves, and don't try and push your believes on the other. thats what love is, loving the person for who/what they are, no matter what. having infinite patience. and if it went somewhere, and you have kids, you let them choose what they want to believe.
