I doubt if they even reference them, especially about making graven images and bowing down to them.
I see many references of versions that eliminate the commandment dealing w/idols. That's strange because the Jews got into all kinds of trouble themselves for worshiping idols. So if it is missing from any later Jewish commandments, it just puts them on the same boat as the Catholics.

Yes, for example,: the 4th commandment says:
4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Why does the Catholic church and other denominations observe the Sunday? During the Roman Empire, Sunday was the day of the sun, a pagan ritual. If you fail to keep one you are responsible for the others. The only ones that I know that keep the Sabbath are the Jews and the Seventh Day Adventists. And what about all those idols, statues and symbols that the Catholic church and it's members bow, and pray to? What happened to you should not have any other god, idols?

No. The ten commandments are not numbered in the Bible. The Catholic Church numbers them a little differently that protestants. We Catholics put "I am the Lord your God...you shall have no other gods before me...and...you shall not worship idols as number 1, because it's all related. We number "you shall not covet your neighbor's wife" and "you shall not covet your neighbor's property" as 9 and 10 because, you have to admit, they are two very different types of coveting.
Protestants seperate "have no other gods" and "worship no idols" into the 1st and 2nd commandment and group our Nos. 9 & 10 into one.
But we all have the EXACT SAME TEXT of the ten commandments, even though some protestants lie and say Catholics got rid of the idol worship part. We didn't. We're not allowed to worship idols, either.

There are actually three versions of the Ten Commandments, Jewish, Catholic (and Lutheran), and Protestant taken from Exodus Chapter 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy Chapter 5:6-21.
With the new revelations of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in the early Catholic Church, a slightly different emphasis was placed on different commandments.
Then 1500 years later, the Protestant in objecting to certain Catholic practices, once again changed the emphasis of the Ten Commandments.

It was not the Catholic Church that changed the Ten Commandments the Protestants did. There are three versions of the Ten Commandments - Jewish, Catholic, and Protestant taken from Exodus 20: 1-17 and Deuteronomy 5,6-21. A close study of the three versions will show that the Catholic version is closer to the Jewish version. The Protestant version changed the Commandments' emphasis so that it could be used to attack certain Catholic practices.

No that is not true
Exodus
Chapter 20 NAB
1 Then God delivered all these commandments:
2
"I, the LORD, am your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery.
3
You shall not have other gods besides me.
4
You shall not carve idols for yourselves in the shape of anything in the sky above or on the earth below or in the waters beneath the earth;
5
2 you shall not bow down before them or worship them. For I, the LORD, your God, am a jealous God, inflicting punishment for their fathers' wickedness on the children of those who hate me, down to the third and fourth generation;
6
but bestowing mercy down to the thousandth generation, on the children of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7
"You shall not take the name of the LORD, your God, in vain. For the LORD will not leave unpunished him who takes his name in vain.
8
"Remember to keep holy the sabbath day.
9
Six days you may labor and do all your work,
10
but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD, your God. No work may be done then either by you, or your son or daughter, or your male or female slave, or your beast, or by the alien who lives with you.
11
In six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the LORD has blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.
12
"Honor your father and your mother, that you may have a long life in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you.
13
"You shall not kill.
14
"You shall not commit adultery.
15
"You shall not steal.
16
"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17
"You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male or female slave, nor his ox or ***, nor anything else that belongs to him."
